Guys the Copyright was an accident left up from a prior video. My bad. It's not removeable after I shoot the video, if overlayed in the software. Sorry. I AM aware I don't need it.

The bridge that starts at around 5:37 is added as a “tribute” type thing from Geoff to Kathy.
@christinestromberg40579 ай бұрын
The bridge in this was written by Geoff, to make it a little longer. It's beautiful. And a tribute to the love of his life. Yes, that's Geoff 's wife Kathy playing the dollmaker, making her perfect man. I think this was the first time Anthony sang with them, and his voice is glorious. Since then of course he's done Creep with them. And Seven Nation Army.

This was basically taken from Pinocchio. The toymaker is Geoff's wife Kathy. That's why Geoff was chosen by her. Kathy is Production Manager for both Voiceplay and Geoff. And she does an amazing job keeping these guys in line 😅. The doll's name is Clara. It was in their Drunken Sailor video. This was filmed in February of last year. Layne's arrangement. Geoff and Kathy are definitely soulmates. You can tell by the way they smile and look at each other. That's not acting.

Layne's eyes - it needs to be remembered that for some women, the 'Perfect Man' is the one who can keep them laughing. Especially since the 'eyes' thing was on the word 'Cuckoo', which was kind of a double meaning. Cuckoo, like crazy, but also like clockworks.

All the drawings in the journal were done by Tony, who also helped to direct. Although it’s a great ending with Kathy and Geoff together, originally Kathy wanted Layne to be the one brought to life. But since Layne was running the Steadycam to film it, it had to be someone else.
@ilonadever82499 ай бұрын
If you think this is weird.... Layne's original idea was to have the heads laying on the table in a laboratory and more of a Doctor Frankenstein female figure. Anthony did this song on Tik Tok and KZbin shorts. As you've seen in Seven Nation Army and Creep, Anthony is very emotive and very physical when he sings. The way the video was made, It was very difficult for him to sit still and sing. I always recommend this cover with the understanding that it is weird, sweet, and very romantic. That end shot with Geoff and Kathy melts my heart every time!

Is it me, or does Kathy look different in every video? Always lovely, mind you, but here she looks very different than in "Monster Mash."
@janetdw9 ай бұрын
The first time they released the raw idea to patrons the heads weren’t even on the stands - they were just sitting there on the table like bodyless heads had a little convention. It was very creepy. I’m glad they at least made them look like wig stands. There are some little Easter eggs in this one. The sign is the words “voice” and “play” in German although it doesn’t translate perfectly. And Kathy is like Geppetto‘s daughter and there’s a Pinocchio doll in the windowsill. Details. They never miss a detail. My favorite part of the song is the bridge that he wrote. I really wish he would write an entire song because the bridge is often my favorite part. He did that in What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor as well. The part where José slows down the tempo and starts singing”Old Souls are we” is another Geoff addition. This isn’t the first time Kathy’s been with a “perfect” man creation. For over 10 years she and Geoff were in the Beetlejuice Rock n Roll Graveyard Revue at Universal Studios. He played the Frankenstein monster, and she was his bride appropriately enough.🧟👰🏻♀️ The creepy doll was in What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor. Geoff states that her name is Clara and “ she has feelings!”😂

They've only given us bits and pieces of the story here, but I like to think dollmaker Kathy was kind to all the disembodied heads and took good care of them while they patiently waited to be completed--hence the serenade.
@ruthrussell13299 ай бұрын
I understand the Kathy did finish all her dolls in time. They apparently turned out really good. This was very close to the end of the restrictions, if not totally over. I think they wanted the heads look anyway.

Voiceplay doesn't do copyright strikes. No label...they do all their own videos. You don't need to block it out :). The doll you saw was in Drunken Sailor, and according to Geoff..."Her name is Clara and SHE HAS FEELINGS!" This one is pretty recent. If you want to see what they pulled off during covid lockdown, check out "Just Sing". It is brilliant!

Ah, one of my top 5! (Hmmm...I think I may have more than 5 in my top 5.) The harmonies are exquisite. Geoff wrote a bridge for this one, and as usual, it's so perfect I didn't even realize, as I'd never heard the original until after this came out. But this is just gorgeous. And I totally agree with the doll thing. Those are better than Annabelle though. And "Clara" the doll from "Drunken Sailor." According to Geoff, Clara, has feelings. Thanks Geoff, that doesn't make it even more creepy AT ALL.😆

Thanks for your reaction! I remember when they were working on this one before it was released they posted a picture of the heads to the patrons as a teaser and to ask for suggestions but we did not know the storyline yet (I thought it was creepy too but did not want to post that in my comment). The finished product and storyline turned out sweet and I was relieved but it took me a couple of listens to like this one.

The lady in this is Geoff’s wife, Kathy. And there was a shot they forgot to record. At the very end of it, her eyes were supposed to do the same “koo koo” thing that Layne’s did - she’s one of them. You don’t need to do the copyright thing on their vids. They won’t come for you and they don’t have a label to worry about. 😊 Now get yourself some sleep!

I could be wrong but I think sometimes the copyright claim happens on the original even if it’s a cover.

@@thisismetoday7423 It shouldn’t. VP does everything right about paying to use the song and all that. They’re the ones that own this video, and they’re the only ones who should - should! - be kicking any fuss. And they don’t. They like reactors. Geoff referee to reactors as the DJs of KZbin. They help turn people on to artists they wouldn’t hear of otherwise.
@thisismetoday74239 ай бұрын
@@Gael4ce I know how they feel about reactors and I know they are independent lol I just heard other reactors say it’s not them that block it but sometimes it’s the song itself that gets blocked. I don’t know… 🤷🏻♀️

Great reaction! The dolls are a bit creepy but I love the Toy maker theme in this one. My favorite is the bridge written by Geoff and sung by Cesar. It is beautiful.

The doll is Clara, she's part of Tony's collection of props, and Geoff assured us "she has feelings!" Lol! The original Patreon release just had the heads on a table. No story or explanation. Patreon response was, great song guys but what's up with the weird video? In a short time, like less than a week, they came back with the toymaker making her perfect man. The notebook Tony drew in, and Kathy adds to during filming, was a hotly contested item when VP auctioned props and donated proceeds to charity.

Kathy said she built them all eventually and they all turned out perfectly 😉. She was definitely going to choose Geoff first of course, being his actual wife and all that! They are nothing if not creative. Geoff wrote a bridge for the middle of the song - as others have mentioned...🌹🕊
