Wizard101| Which Housing Gauntlets SHOULD You Buy?

If KI EVER patches the Winterbane respawn they’re gonna have a straight up revolt on their hands… but I gotta say I’m really loving the most recent Forbidden Library gauntlet for all the fun puzzles and stuff. Which gauntlets on this list are your favs? And which ones do you regret buying?

@@Zaepha only gauntlet i have is the grand tourney, pretty good imo, energy great and 1-2 mega snacks per run with each run being about 7-8 minutes

I'm still waiting for them to allow you to set your gauntlets to public in housing tours. They try so hard to force people to be friends to use them but i just want to create a space for free gauntlets to those less able to buy them. Having that level of freedom in that i can decide who uses my housing items just feels like it should already be a thing.

@02Resurrect funny enough it wouldn't. People can already glitch housing tours and it's easy to do. People do so regularly. Yes they might see fewer sales of gauntlets but quality of life means more subs and a larger player base. Meaning they make money on these decisions. Believe they call it penny wise, pound foolish.

@@02Resurrect am I the only one that knows this used to be a feature?? Around 10 years ago this used to be the case.. everyone went to a specific death house that had all the gauntlets that anyone could farm for free.

@@Zaepha I think it's one of those things that you either love it, or ignore it :P But it is a big deal for those collectors when a gauntlet comes out because not only are there potentially creatures to extract, but multiples of them - one for each tier of the gauntlet. Gotta catch 'em all, ya know!

You talking about the "ultra" rare wand makes me have veitnam flashbacks of when people did not get their crowns back with the exception of a few people including Blaze LifeHammer. On top of that some people got banned for asking for a refound of their crowns, "fun times". 😑🙄

Great video! Ended up buying the Unforgiven Dead gauntlet with the holiday mystery discount. Still don’t know if it’s worth that much money, but having more crowns never hurts.

Grand Tourney 10/10 my favorite I run it always with one friend who loves it as well and its her favorite it has a insane mega snack per time taken rate and so fast to complete and very easy Really good source of snacks my favorite of all and I own all like you do 😺 my least favorite is Night mire gauntlet Zaepha videos are auto like for me you are the best

Hey Zaepha! Since you brought attention to it, Andreux Lagniappe is an exaggerated New Orleans French Cajun spelling, given the theme of the gauntlet. It’s pronounced “Andrew Lanyap.” Funnily enough, “lagniappe” is Cajun slang for “something extra,” hence why he is the one you can buy the extra gear from. While “EUX” is pronounced “EW,” the spelling “EAUX” is a hard “O” sound. So the final boss, Dr. Neaux is pronounced “Dr. No,” like the villain from the Bond films. Just thought this would be fun to share. Thanks for the awesome video!

update: winterbane also has a rare chance of dropping a set pet: it could be patched out, or still there but: on axel breaker, if you beat him, he'll drop you a krokotopian life troll, part of a set.

You forgot to mention that some of these gear drops from the gauntlets are tier locked. Meaning you can only get them from specific tiers. Not only that the Accursed Play Guantlet drops the faithful dragoness mount albeit at tier 1.

The wiki only records macdeath dropping the temp version of the faithful dragoness mount, not the perm one. He also drops a temp dark redwing mount but again, neither are perms.

If you buy the Sun Pagoda when you're low level the gear gives critical. It'd fun to be level 20 and fight with critical.

If you want a less expensive critical option at low levels I’d also recommend getting a few critical talents on a pet since that’s a lot less than paying $40 for gear you’ll soon outgrow 😉

having a crit talent in a pet is the better route since you literally only need 1 talent to crit on low levels with how currently critical is.

I've farmed grand tourney 70 times for energy gear. The drops seem to follow pack logic and rarity. Got 17 energy boots, 10 hats and 1 robe.

I doubt you got 28 items from 70 runs. If you said 5 from 100 runs I'd believe you(maybe) but a 40% drop rate, yeah you telling lies. your nose can be seen from New York to California.

It's mathematically impossible that you got so many items. Maybe you meant to type 700 runs not 70? That would be more believable

I have a lot of daily-reward housing items called Duels that look like this (the entrance to a boss or dungeon), but I suspect that they're not the same as "gauntlets." Is that right?

You probably have what are called one shot challenge duels that can drop from bosses or be bought in the crowns shop. Those are “one shot” in that they can only be used once before going away and they’re usually just one fight, not a full dungeon like the gauntlets are. Honestly I don't think any gauntlet is worth buying for $40. At $20 on sale some if you want the mount/gear sure. I'm lucky a friend buys most gauntlets but really they offer little value, good drops are so rare. If they were value for money why would KI be making that new event with gauntlets? Because most with more sense than money don't waste $40 on gauntlets that they use only a few times

I think you might be mixing it up with some of the old bosses in Mooshu that dropped spells. Like the boss Zaneki in Shirataki Temple used to drop Goat Monk but no longer does.

Depends on the gauntlet but at 56 you can craft Wintertusk gear or farm Waterworks at 60. So probably not unless you membership runs out.
