In Barbatos's defense, Zagan told him to check on Chastille and report back immediately if something bad happened. Chastille was literally dying, so I think that qualifies.

i hope we get more Nephy in season 2, her character really felt wasted. i was expecting a lot of backstory and the plot to focus on her especially after that Hashirama scene but they focused instead on the church corruption and stuff

Most elfs in fatansy dont have eternal life, i know the one in “gate” is basically immortal but thats are far as i know it. Elfs do have a huge lifespan but even tolkiens elves dont have a natural eternal life span. The high elfs have necklaces that grants them immortality. And the wood elfs simply pass away after a long time. Elfs in fantasy never have immortality unless the lore 100% makes it clear. And unless the story demands it (like galadriel who is almost godlike but not in the amazon show).
