She's been in Korea since she was 19 and it's been like 7 years now. Meanwhile Kazuha has only been in Korea for like 3 years so her Japanese is still very fresh in her head. It's really like a rusty switch in your head the longer you go without using a language. Understanding is one thing, but speaking is a whole different beast.

Honestly, she just pretends to forget. She never forgot her Japanese like Momo did. She talks to her mom on the phone, every single day. Also, talks to her Japanese friends every day as well. Kazuha is very good at language. Which is why she already far surpassed Sakura's Korean in just 2 years.

Nah Sakura just pretends to forget. She said that she speaks to her mom on the phone, every single day. And also talks to Sasshi and Murashige every day as well. You can tell the difference between Sakura and someone like Momo. Momo, to this day, still messes up in Japanese speeches and interviews. Just last month on Hyoyeon's channel, she was confusing Kyoto and Tokyo again.

Actually around 3:30 Minami calls her Sakura-tan rather than Sakura-san. It's more casual, affectionate, and playful especially if you want to emphasize cuteness or closeness/want to get rid of unnecessary distance

actually when you know more than one language, switching to another language is like activating every possible word in all the languages you know in your brain, you can't really help it. you literally have to take all the languages you know and sift through which one you want to say. it makes your brain lag and it slows you down, its just bilingual struggles and its worse when you know multiple languages and especially if you're more fluent (both languages are quite fluent for her so the lag is for real). she's just be lagging, not forgetting. it's also probably why momo has these "forgetting" incidents more often because shes very fluent in both. kazuha on the other hand probably remembers faster because her japanese is still much more fluent compared to korean, making it easier to sift through and express what she wants to say.

Well Sakura has been living in South Korea for quite some time now and has been mainly using South Korea's main language, Hangul, pretty much 24/7, rather than her home country's mother tongue, Japanese. So of course you'll tend to forget your mother tongue's language from time to time, same thing goes with the situation with Momo, however, with Momo's case, she somehow banged her head onto a wall as a younger child, which made her lose the ability to speak English.

Actually, Korean has more sounds than Japanese. Which is why Japanese people typically have a hard time pronouncing a lot of Korean words. That's why Sakura can't say 'Kku-ra' that well. And says 'Kkeu-ra' instead.

It’s natural to forget a language if you don’t use it often. However, Sakura learned Korean as an adult and continues to use Japanese daily with her family and friends. She also works steadily in Japan, meaning she is constantly immersed in the language. As a Korean, I believe Sakura speaks Korean very well, but it has never felt as intuitive or effortless to her as Japanese. Especially when working, I can see that she puts a lot of thought into mastering the nuances of pronunciation and expression. Anyway, when switching between languages, it’s completely normal to momentarily struggle to recall words or phrases in another language. This doesn’t mean she’s forgotten the language. It's just funny video. Don't take it seriously.
