I am highly shocked.It is a Bold from the blue. I am Eighty three now. My ancestors indulged all of our brothers and sisters to listen all the Classical Music Conferences and our whole family was students of Indian Clssical Music. When I was a child, I had the opportunity to here Ustad Ahmedjan Therekua, Ustad Allarakha ( Father of Late Jakir Hossain), Pandit Samta Prasad, Ustad Keramatulla Khan and all the stars of yesterday's. Ustad Jakir Hossain, I heard him when he was a Ten years boy in a homely function at Pandit Janprakash Ghosh's residence. Believe me , from that day, I was sure He would be the King of Tabla one day. Trust me , latter my prediction was 100 percent correct. So far, in my long life, I think, Late Ustad Jakir Hossain was the best amongst all "Tabalchis" , I heard. Not only that, he was down to earth in nature, respectful to other Artists , even to an ordinary man. He used to carry his own "Baya and Tabla" himself to the stage, which I never saw any Musical Instrument Players in my long life. HE WAS GEM. MAY GOD KEEP HIS SOUL IN PEACE.
