i have been playing for 34 years,.. and FINALLY in the last couple of month things change. ABSOLUTELY RELAXATION in your picking hand is crucial. Start on one string with tremolo picking without metronome first to get aware of muscle tension status, then try ¼, ⅛ 8note triplets and 1/16th in turns with the metronome, then string changes. Just the picking hand alone first. Then add notes later. 80 percent slow and accurate, 20 p. speed bursts Otherwise you can practise licks and scales for decades and i promise NOTHING will make you get beyond this f$%ng plateau we are all facing. It might take some months by stay with it!!!! Good luck, everyone can do clean shredding. it is no rocket science, but work on the right topics. Greetings from germany!

This is the one I was waiting for you to do...Ben you were made for this, the aggression, the pick attack, the brutality. Ever since you did that Gibson Bullseye Wylde riffs video years ago, was waiting to see you shred some more Wylde.

What is blowing my mind is you’re doing that on a tele strung with 11’s. Amazing! A lot of the super shredders used light strings. You must have fingers made of steel 😂

I’d love to hear you do some scalar things Ala Yngwie. Your playing is so percussive, I’d love to hear if you are able to play with a more “fluid” sound, like Yngwie’s intro solos in Icarus Dream Suite, or the main solos in “You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget,” or “Marching Out”. Thanks for sharing your playing with us!

Randy is my fave guitarist from his solo career. Zakk is my 2nd. Jake E. Lee is a better song writer than Zakk. In fact Zakk's guitar writing is rather basic BUT... the FEROCITY OF ZAKK'S PLAYING ALWAYS BLOWS ME AWAY! It's repetitive as hell, BUT INSANE! His performance on Ozzy Live in Budokan .... WOW! Is it my imagine, is it possible, that you play it waaaaay faster and with waaaaay more attack? HOW?!?!?! 😱
@mattpeterson30023 күн бұрын
Zakk used to be VERY precise with his right hand picking. For whatever reason-getting older, less regimented practice time, or becoming less interested in technique-Zakk’s playing has become much sloppier when doing his solo playing. But if you check out videos when he was young, his technique was awesome.
@kojam1Күн бұрын
I never noticed any sloppiness. Really? 🥺 I was more referring to his rhythm parts. Super basic. Randy created some interesting rhythm parts. Jake too.
