I feel like the SD-EX kits were marketed to USA builders but Bandai didn't understand that we'd rather overpay for a good kit than pay "Japan prices" for a sub-standard kit. Cross Silhouette kits are 100% the way to go for SD kits in the future, in my opinion. The add-ons are an easy sale.

2020 was a difficult year to get a lot of the newer kits Bandai released due to all the distribution problems the USA had. I did orders from a few different sites as some sites got some kits in stock at random, other sites didn't. It was a big hunting year for me, which in a way was a little fun too. A lot of the kits released this year didn't really interest me much so most of my 2020 kits tended to be "older" kits released although I really loved the Digimon Adventure kits Bandai released and the Figure-rise Fumina kit was enjoyable and surprising to get waterslides!

for me it is the Aegis Knight because it has two different Mobile Armor modes, has a Core Fighter, and capable of combining with the Core Gundam II, Wodom Pod, Ex Valkylander to form the Re:Rising Gundam.

MG Sandrock Armadillo is the best P-Bandai release for 2020 followed by MG Testament and MG GM Turbulence. Sucks that what I wanted ended up in the webshop, but at least we finally got that variant of the Sandrock. As for MG releases, MG Kyrios and Wing Zero Custom Ver Ka are the best of the best for 2020. Can't say for the HGs as I don't actually build them. But for the 2020 MGs, those are the best of 2020 in my book.

Core gundam was definitely my favorite HG of 2020. The concept was the same as 2019 but they expanded on it with the Alus and Rize which was all cross compatible.

I got the SDEX Nu anyway because they're so cheap and was impressed by the quality of the stickers, which is good considering how the majority of the 'build' is applying them. I have a feeling they made them SDEX because the Fin Funnels on the Nu would take a lot of stickers if not color seperated plastic. Either way I'm personally hoping for a SDCS Nu/Sazabi two-pack with included CS frames.

I'm a little surprised any of the RX-78F00 kits (either 1/100 or 1/144) didn't warrant a comment.. I've been trying to get my hands on one of them but they're pretty hard to find (or op on ebay). Nice review of 2020 btw!

You are so right about the, Sazabi and Nu Gundam SD-EX Standard. I am still in some sort of a trauma....I mean it was a big dream of mine to have those as SD Cross Silhouette Kits. I even bought extras of those Cross Silhouette Frames for them. But they were released as SD-EXs.....I still bought them but I am still asking, "Why Bandai!? Why!!!!?""" I hate Bandai!!!! But on the bright side, I completely agree with your HG picks. In fact, I have all of them and I will only add the HG Infinite Justice Gundam as one more great kit released in 2020. Also, I love the Kyrios better than the FAZZ and Wing Zero. As far as P-Bandai goes, for some reason... I like the Varguil the most followed by the Plutone for HGs and for Master Grade...I only have one...The Testament Gundam. I love this kit. Great picks you have....thank you.

definitely want to mention the HGCE infinite justice. Probably my personal favorite kit of the year. As someone who doesn't usually paint their kits, the color quality and nub placement put it a mark above most other kits in its grade and price range.

new wing zero MG blew everything this year out of the water, even the fancy $300 PGU 300th version of RX78-2....paying $300 for no water slides and everything else is ridiculous. Wing zero mg consistently blew everyone's expectations out of the water, even though it was mired by gunpla youtubers talking shit against it, "wHy Do We NeEd ThIs?"

​@@ZakuAurelius Sorry, I didn't explain clear enough - I know that MGEX is on the list, but I just don't agree with your doubts why it maybe shouldn't be on it. Or rather, I'd agree with you if only you'd have simmilar doubts with PG unleashed, because for me this kit cut way more corners than MGEX. Yes, MGEX is overpriced, especially when you consider that it doesn't include all the full armor accesories, has ugly stickers for the v-fin and it's led strip is prone to damage, but it's main gimmick looks really impressive and the kit comes with lot of extra accessories that weren't necessary, like the cage. Meanwhile, Unleashed led effect is really weak, it doesnt come with waterslides, it doesnt include all basic weapons (I can understand that we didn't get gundam hammer and javelin, but where's bazooka?), it doesn't come with any base nor even base adapter, it comes with premolded frame that'll probably get loose with time if you move it too much (also it's frame doesnt offer that many molded details and moving mechanical parts, but that just my personal gripe) and a plastic stickers for it's navigation lights... all that for a price of PG Perfect Strike (which is also way more than PG GP01, Exia, Unicorn or the Astray). Don't get me wrong, Unleashed is a really nice kit (it's exterior looks nice and layered armor with the metal stickers adds a nice 3d effect on the frame - especially knees and backpack looks amazing), but that's really it. I just feel like if we complain on MGEX price and it's problems, than we should be even more harsh on PG Unleashed. Sorry for the long answer, I hope I didnt bore you too much lol.

I'm just gonna say this, not really interested in perfect grades or anything 144 scale, It's all about master grade kits for me because I think they age the best of all and come at a way better price than RG's do considering the amount of KIT you get with MG's, so I'm sadly a bit upset with the fact that MG's don't get as many kits on a year period, no hate for HG or RG kits but i feel like they get way too many "reworks"/"remasters" than other lines, as a person who just builds the kits out of the box and not focused on painting/improving the kits at least for now, can't say I'm very pleased with how bandai manages the MG releases, hopefully 2021 will change this and maybe bring some well deserved 2.0 kits from 2 decades ago.

MG kits take more time and money to develop compared to HG. They also have a higher price tag obviously to reflect that. Bandai’s #1 demo is still kids in japan. Kids(or their parents) can’t drop $50 ever month for a new MG, but $20 for a simpler HG moves a lot more product

@@ZakuAurelius I agree and that makes sense financially , but i feel like Bandai isn't very keen on pushing the gunpla brand into other markets enough while pushing more and more Premium/Base limited products, from my understanding the hobbi is doing great in Japan, but I would love to see their market expand in Europe for example, very difficult to get a hold on kits here at a fair price with huge shipping costs on top of that. But hey, they got more info on how to manage their sales and investments so what do I know xD. My point is that they seem to not give much care about marketing their products outside of Asia and US, I really believe the demand would exist with enough push.
