It's been a while since I've seen a new video from Zalinki. For those who don't know, Zalinki is a KZbinr who makes quirky, animated shorts. I was really excited when I saw that he had uploaded a new video, and even more excited when I realized that it was about time. In the video, we see a man violently open a door, drink water from a table, and then be confronted by another man who starts taking his picture. The water-drinking man then smashes the glass into the face of the picture-taking man, and the video ends. There's a lot to unpack here. Firstly, I think the video is a commentary on the passage of time. The fact that the door is so violently opened could represent the way that time can feel like it's moving too fast, and that we often feel like we're being bombarded by things that we can't control. The water-drinking man could represent a return to a creative activity, something that brings us enjoyment and peace in the midst of all the chaos. And finally, the little man taking pictures is representative of how we often try to capture moments, but we're unable to truly understand the complexities of someone's character. We can only see a snapshot of who they are, and over time, even that snapshot will fade. I think this video is important because it reminds us that time is precious and that we should savor the moments we have. It's easy to get caught up in the everyday grind and forget what's truly important. We should all take a page from Zalinki's book and remember to slow down and enjoy the ride. We're all human, so maybe we shouldn't be trying to capture everyone in specific lights that may be inaccurate or unrealistic to their character. All in all, a great new video, I can not wait to see what's in store next.

This really says something about how hydration is viewed in modern society. I drink Gatorade for pretty much all of my workouts, and not only is Gatorade not bad for you (albeit quite caloric), but it actually helps to hydrate your body more effectively. I can get a full liter of water in a little less than 15 minutes and an electrolyte beverage like Gatorade in about 10, so there is absolutely no reason not to drink something that’s better than water in its ability to hydrate your body. So yeah checkmate Albanians. UPDATE: Here’s a pretty nice rebuttal to my argument from someone in the comments below. Kay: Great post. I learned to drink coffee in part to make my trainers happy. Of course, coffee can be used to hydrate your body. The same can be said for many other caffeinated drinks including energy drinks. It’s fine to drink a few drinks a day if you have to. Coffee, along with tea, is part of the proper diet for athletes and has plenty of benefits. I used to drink about 2/3 cup of black coffee a day in a jug before going to the gym. Now I take a NERF sports drink with me so I don’t stop for a latte on the way home.

While I agree that Gatorade (and similar sports drinks) can more effectively hydrate your body (through the usage of electrolytes) I do believe your opinion is (incorrect) as to Gatorade being the Superior beverage for hydration. Gatorade (and similar sports drinks) contain added sugars, which is a problem for two reasons. One, added sugars means added unnecessary calories (which ultimately counters the original goal of better health). Two, these added sugars can lead to bacteria in the gut to overreact (causing potential stomach issues). Clearly, the superior drink for hydration is none other than Pedialyte. Well this may seem unintuitive (as Pedialyte is traditionally meant for children) Pedialyte has the same benefits as sports drinks minus the excess sugar. This means Pedialyte is able to replace electrolytes in the body (without the stomach issues from the added glucose). In an era of over information, overstimulation, misinformation (and fake news), it is incredibly important that you do your due amount of research on the internet before stating your uneducated opinion. This video has changed my life, this says a lot about how I perceive drinking water. Because this happens to me quite frequently, I am unable to hydrate myself because I have smashed approximately 128 cups against a mans head since they keep pulling out their phones and making a funny gamer moment out of me drinking water. My hands are still bleeding from the millions of glass grains embedded in my hands. But thank you for making this video. Really, this opens up a whole new perspective on the world that I thought I was the only one to see. This should surely make everyone more aware about people pulling out their phones when I am trying to hydrate. With people being more aware, I can hydrate, and buy more cups. Here's an attempt at an interpretation about the meaning of this video. I've always had this in mind since the day it came out, but I never took the time to write down my thoughts out loud. The two characters are the public internet figure (we're going to call them the youtuber from hereon out) and the viewer. The dark palette of the video and the ambient wind noise accompanying it represent solitude for the youtuber, a time where they have more privacy than usual. We can infer that the youtuber prefers being inside the space they have entered judging by how violently they slam the door shut. Despite this, the moment the youtuber precedes to perform any mundane task in their private area, there is always a viewer that'll arrive and act as if it's their life's most important news. This is depicted by the exaggerated expressions of the animated viewer, and their urgency in pulling out their phone to record. The act of recording represents how the youtuber's privacy is threatened. We can make the assumption that the viewer is filming in the hopes of sharing it publically later on. Naturally, all of this is infuriating behavior, thus concluding the video with a glass to the head. I feel like this video portrays a great commentary of the culture on KZbin and the internet as a whole. There are so many internet users that choose to forego any sense of a boundary between the people they enjoy in the hopes that it'll make them liked or noticed. The reality is that it makes them come off as annoying at best, and dangerous at worst. I'd imagine that this video was created due to either Zalinki's or someone else's personal experience surrounding this. Overall, this video speaks a brilliant message in satirizing the concept of parasocial relationships, and it does so in a manner that is both humorous, subtle, and concise. Or Maybe Im Just Really Really Stupid
