I have seen a lot of introductory videos to Deep Learning from a lot of different universities, and this is without question the best one by far. What sets this apart is that you actually explain the reasoning behind every little thing. It's also great to see code accompanying the examples. Thanks for uploading it.

Alexander Amini and MIT, a huge thanks for letting this course available to the public! I'm a Deep Learning student and every piece of knowledge that is accessible on the internet is a piece of gold! Even more when it comes from a huge institution with incredible teachers! By the way, your explanation on the subjects of Deep Learning were very clear and well said, congrats! I'm waiting very cheerfully for the next class!

After my stepfather passed away, I used photoshop to change a photo of him for my mom. I moved and painted the eyes to be looking forward instead of off to the side, and made the photo less saturated because it was far too orange. She printed a large size of it and kept it with her for the rest of her life. I can only image how much more comforting it might have been if it would have been able to move and talk to her. That seems like it would really comfort some older people when their partners are gone.

This lecture has simply helped understand the concept of deep learning. I am taking machine learning at some institution and it was so confusing until now with the whole structure of applying deep learning and which tools to apply where. After this lecture and probably the lecture to come, I have emerged and will continue to be on top of things in terms of machine learning. Thank you very much for this course

I think it is the other way around, wouldn't it make sense if the input is less than 0 and y < 0.5 that it would be negative. i.e the green part is positive and the blue part is negative. Please correct me if I am wrong and if I am, would you mind explaining it.

Thanks for the great lecture. I have a question, though. At 20:30, Alexander says: "When the input is less than 0 and greater than 0.5, that's when the input is positive." Can someone exaplain what did he mean by that? I don't really understand how can an input be less than 0 and greater than 0.5 at the same time...
@abhiramreddy15983 жыл бұрын
It is a contradiction 😂😂

I think he meant to say "When the input is >0.5" because that's technically the case when the sigmoid function returns a positive output. "input

This is by far the best introduction I've seen on deep learning. And it is a big improvement over the prior year. However, you do have some way to go in developing the lecture. Communicating about the subject may be more difficult than discovering the subject. (Plan on about taking an hour to develop the talk and slides for each minute of presentation.) The first part of the lecture is fantastic but the quality goes down later. Try to reduce the amount of information presented and spend more time on making the transitions easy to follow.

Thank you for the initiative. The excellent explanation has made it easy to understand these concepts. What should be the best approach to get the most out of this course? Make your own notes and practice or concentrate just on videos and then put those concepts into practice? Also, the project competition and submission is only for MIT students or anyone can take part?
