Devil may cry 1 was the first draft of resident evil 4. Some of resident evil models were recycled into that game. It's not a surprise that dmc 1 looked more like an horror game than its sequels.

Vergil is the hardest boss in DMC3 and 5 but I think Nightmare 3 and Mundus are far more challenging than Nelo Angelo

It makes sense why they set 3 boss fights with Nelo Angelo because not only did he remember Dante but he fought Dante again and again until he remembered. Dante still didn’t know who it was until Vergil dropped the amulet. Man, I thought that was deep asf.

Well it's because at that point Vergil has no resemblance to his former self you got the slick back hair like sparda but you also got the red glowing eyes that mundus essentially implanted into him along with looking like a corpse

I always found it cool that Nero in DMC4 has the move Streak which is a Nelo Angelo move. It was a nice nod to Nero's relation to Vergil in 2008 when everything was just speculation

I always love fighting Nelo Angelo because his fights have everything. We have the emotional investment of fighting Virgil complimented by one of the best battle themes in the series, UltraViolet. Not only that the fights themselves are also really fun as Nelo outputs a lot of damage (especially on DMD) but his attacks are very telegraphed and can be disrupted if you time it carefully. In my opinion, this fight is the one that makes best use of DMC1's combat which of course is a trend with Virgil boss fights.

Man, I really like how you can see Dante's brow twitching in this remaster as he stares at Vergil's amulet. I don't think that happens in the original (especially since the game is old and that would've been hard with those models--I think anyway idk I don't make games or anything lmfao). It just adds so much emotion to me--showing that Dante is actually upset about killing his brother (for what is essentially the second time).

@SalesmanWave *shrugs* I never really thought about it that, considering the TV that I used to play on, I would've never been able to see something so finite like that so I merely assumed that it wasnt like that before lol The HD does make it much clearer in my opinion, to the point of I wasn't sure if it was there to begin with-- and with how low poly things were, I usually assume(d) that minor movements like that were caused just by the rendering (or whatever the fancy word is for it; where it is at an angle were the model looks like it's moving but it's just how the lighting and stuff makes it look lol-- hopefully that made sense, I'm bad at explaining things) :))) (/pos + /nbr)

​@@org_xiii if you beat over 100 demons in the credits scene in dmc3 you unlock secret cutscene that shows Vergil running in hell right after the fight with Dante to fight Mundus head on. He lost (because he was still injured from Dante) and got tortured by Mundus until he became Nelo Angelo. Then Nelo/Vergil got "killed" again in dmc1 and got freed from the curse. And dmc5 is just dmc5

I guess he got intensely weakened after being freed from Nelo Angelo. He can barely even walk straight from that one cutscene in the garage, before he violently tore Nero's Devil Bringer off him and made it manifest into Yamato. Then there's the part where he split himself and made himself whole again with his vitality returning.

No it's not, you may like more the aesthetic of DMC1, which is fair, but the models are definitely less detailed and polished, now I think if you want to do a real comparison do it with the PS2 versions, cuz the HD collection messed up a lot of textures and visual effects
