That moment when Gladio goes on a spirit journey specifically to get strong enough to stand up to Ravus meanwhile here's Iggy soloing him like a boss without any power ups. Ignis was just silently holding back all of his power this entire time. Lol

Ozair Chishti (not an important rant) For me that’s some kind of major error. Like Gladdy tried to stop the arm of the man with all of his force but a tired Ignis could do it too ? And not only that ,he « beated him ». It was clearly stated that fighting-wise Gladio’ was the best of the group and that’s why the scene with Ravus crushing him was so impressive.

The French Charismatic Guide I think the difference here and there is that Ravus came at Gladio with everything he had right from the start and caught him off guard right from the get go. He also lost any leverage by immediately being pinned under Ravus' sword so not much he could do from there. I think Gladiolus after his match with Gilgamesh would destroy Ravus. Here Ravus has also been fighting all day alongside Ignis and I think while Ignis may not be Ravus' equal in pure strength his mastery over magic helped even the playing field. Plus I think Ravus wasn't properly focused or fully trying either seeing as to how he was overcome with grief over Luna and he had come to respect Iggy to a certain extent too. All in all while Iggy is physically weaker and yes he was fighting all day Ravus was also fighting all day and wasn't at the top of his game mentally speaking. You'll notice many times in this fight where he did knock Iggy around with physical blows and at one point lifted him up while strangling him with one hand. While I personally did want to see Gladio and Ravus go at it again at full strength I feel like by this point in the game it would be fairly one sided in Gladio's favor since Gilgamesh is a much tougher opponent than Ravus and Ravus during this particular battle is already off his game. I mostly made my comment as a joke for fun but I do think there are legitimate reasons behind why both encounters played out the way they did and why both make sense within their respective contexts.

Ravus>Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh schooled Gladio during their first encounter, but not as hard as Ravus did. Ignis' is underestimated cause he's mild mannered, doesnt like to show off, but in this dlc its pretty clear he is by far the strongest of the 3 companions. Just look what happened when he uses the ring, beats the strongest character in the game. Compare this to Nyx who could barely beat some chump in magitek armor.

This dlc was a beautiful masterpiece and really will give you a feels trip, I actually felt like crying from the look on his face alone when he saw her because the animators managed to capture all the feelings of anger, denial and sorrow that comes with grief.

I'm late for this but I like to think that the real reason to why Ravus lost to Ignis is because he was not himself, he was grieving and in despair whereas Ignis was trying his absolute best to protect Noctis from Ravus. Even the fact that Ravus simply let go of his intentions of killing Noctis after losing the fight like that proves that he wasn't really driven to kill Noctis, he was simply mad about everything and that fight helped him blow off some steam.

The only reason why Ignis was not killed was because Ravus could not think clearly so he left many weak spots , plus after the battle you can see that Ignis kinda lost his energy but Ravus gets up very fast. But Ignis won the battle with his words , not his blades. Ravus was much stronger than Ignis but I don't think he would be strong enough to beat Gladio after Gilgamesh test.

Nathan Izq Nah while this DLC was phenomenal I wouldn't say it was better than the entire game. Fights like Aranea, Titan, Leviathan, Daemon Ravus, Ifrit, and even Ardyn were all pretty great. Story had its low moments but there were some genuinely great and heartfelt moments in there too. This DLC was just more consistent and even then that's largely due to its length and size. A big open world like the main game is gonna have trouble always keeping the story turned up to 11 cuz the player needs breathing room for side quests and exploration but whenever the story really focused up I liked it just as much as the stuff i saw here and I would say I still like the final Insomnia portion of the main game more than anything I've seen in the DLCs so far.

FF15 was too much of a slog. The first %70 of the game was total garbage, not worth playing. It picked up at the end but Ardyn was a shit final boss, easily the worst in any FF game, his moveset was way cooler in this friggin DLC lol(still trash though). 15 shouldve focused on including emotional and interesting story moments like this dlc rather than pointlessly making a big open world game. The open world sucked anyway, pretty much empty. Wouldve gladly taken loading screens and segmented areas if it meant getting stuff like this dlc throughout the whole game.

And u know v13 was originally planned as a linear (not totally linear tho) rpg like ff7, and was planned to sell as 3 games. Interesting to see more of Ravus affection for Lunafreya, and has the player sympathize with how both Ravus and Noctis wanted to save Luna's life and with Ravus losing the only family he had left. Lunafreya and Ravus both should have gotten more screentime in this story. They were both such complex characters and yet tragically underutilized. Still, I'm grateful that the Ignis DLC gave us this epic, emotionally charged boss fight. The moment the music starts to swell and "Ravus Left Party" appears on the screen is where you know things are about to get serious.

Damie Towner While Ardyn may not have gotten a dynamic intro, or cool realtime aerial combat, I think the third phase of his fight is still the most intense, heavy, and masterfully executed fight sequence in the game. Where you've both expended most of your power but Ardyn is still just a bit quicker and is beating you down while taunting you with that haunting score playing in the background as you desperately look for an opening to start retaliating which gets capped off with Noctis pretty much doing Cloud's Omnislash v.6 on Ardyn with all 13 royal arms. It's probably the most cathartic and satisfying end to a fight in the game imo.

If you mean the boss theme, it's called Two Protectors, afaik. The OSTs generally seem to be titled after their respective quest names in the DLC, so use that as a reference if you wanna find the whole soundtrack.

Its already 2 years since FFXV release, but I still feel dissapoint about Luna. First, her design, then I hope her character will be better. But until now, I dont find anything special about her except her role as Oracle and Noctis's bride to be. At first I think her battle with Levianthan will be amazing, when she will show great magic as Oracle and she will be defeat it. But I only see her damsel and distress scene. She like an usual type anime-girl who must be protect by the hero. Hope before Square Enix end their project for FFXV, they will give last DLC about Luna, tell about her personality and her journey before her death.

Geometrical Gamer Were we watching the same sequence of events? Luna carried Noct through that fight. She blasted Leviathan back with her magic when she tried to eat her, then Noct was supposed to take over from there and fight her because it's his trial but Leviathan smacked him away, then Luna summoned all of Noctis' kingly power for him so he could actually stand a chance, then even though she had just been stabbed by Ardyn she still rushed over to Noctis who passed out from expending too much energy and healed him up while summoning Titan which Noctis says takes up a lot of energy in and of itself, and her last act was literally keeping Noctis alive while both were drowning in a massive flood of water that broke through Titan's solid rock walls. I thought that scene displayed her strength, sheer will, and durability amazingly but just because she wasn't going super saiyan people choose to write it off. Seriously people need to broaden their definition of strength cuz it's not just all about punching someone really hard. A girl that was confirmed to be slowly dying was doing all of that. I say it was a great show of her resolve.

I love that this fight was basically ravus just full on venting with ignis. Thats why Ignis (who is very strong dint get me wrong) was able to calm ravus down and fight on equal footing. A calm and level headed ravus would have destroyed ignis most likely.
