My theory (almost like the truth). Pixal couldn't come to terms with Zane's death, so she reassembled him. They are one. After turning on Zane and Pixal, their stole the ronin and gave it to Chen for money. Zane Took part in a tournament of the elements and lost (possibly chen).

Thats not what happened since ive seen everything about ninjago and since i used to be a true ninjago fan zane was found dead by ronin from the season after tournament of elements and he rebuilt zane but since ronin was working for chen he gave zane to chen to hold him hostage until the ninja rescued zane
