You keep walking towards Zangief. Even at round start, you're literally holding forward towards him at the start of some rounds. Why? It's like you're trying to establish dominance, and it's forcing you to have a much harder time in this matchup than you should. Zangief has higher health because he's expected to wade through fireballs and long-range attacks to get to his opponent. You wālking towards Zangief while being one of the best prominent fireball characters in the game is silly. The only time not to throw fireballs against Zangief is when he has 2 or more meters. You're playing the matchup like he has 2 bars all the time and are only using fireballs as cover for your drive rush. Let Zangief do a little work getting in, and slow down a bit.

Makes no sense that Zangief can have the higher health in the game, have a huge range in most of his moves and can deal 2500+ damage with a single command grab. Also his anti-air is so brain dead with almost no risk at all.

this is not true,with consistent good jumps both ex/normal lariat whiff on both crossups and normal jumps,you just need to learn to jump the right way against gief on knockdown oki.
