Apparently Zanias is a big Grimes fan. Grimes has a song with the same name. I think Zanias just couldn't refrain from releasing her own "Idoru". Zanias released her song first, then Grimes, but I'm almost sure Zanias knew of Grimes's song before Grimes released the album and Zanias managed to release her song first. Zanias gets "inspired" a lot, it seems. Several people pointed out that her "Unseen" video is basically identical to a Grimes video that Grimes wasn't happy with so that she deleted it.

Wow, the assumption that I must have had info on a Grimes track 2 years before it was released rather than, like, just having read the same book? That's some interesting logic you're working with there! But yeah, I actually named the track after the book by William Gibson. Highly recommended read. Incidentally the new Grimes album was brought to my attention *because* she also named a track 'Idoru' - I hadn't really paid attention to her work since Halfaxa and was surprised by how much I loved it. Hadn't really fallen in love with new music for many years at that point so the album meant a lot to me.
