This is YOUR channel. SOME people want you to stick with the music. Hey, I think most people watching could probably make a list of the next 5 or 6 things they would like you to do and I could as well and very well might make SUGGESTIONS..... But I think the vast majority of people are watching recognize 100% that it's totally your channel and we have no right to tell you what to do, we're just along for the ride...... Don't lose sleep over this just keep doing what you want to do!! Personally just from seeing Your reaction and openness to many of these videos I'm interested in watching you and I'm sure thousands of others are the same..... I think one of the things that makes your videos so attractive is the fact that you are 100% acting out of your own interest, commenting your own thoughts and not catering to anyone else’s opinions. I personally would have no interest in watching someone gush over video after video with generic feedback and enthusiasm. You ask fascinating and intuitive questions and make such spot on observations bc you have genuine interest in what you are watching. And it’s pretty impressive bc I feel like people nowadays are so desperate for likes and hits that they will jump into what everyone wants them to say and do to continue to get that attention. I love how you are truly doing this for your own enjoyment and interest and that authenticity is what makes you so interesting to watch! Keep doing you!

Wow. for the first time I'm one of the first to comment 🙂 There are benefits for leaving in Israel as Shabbat ends here earlier than in America (they still have at least 6 hours until they can touch their computers). I admit I started watching your videos because of your reactions to Jewish music (you even introduced me to songs I didn't know before, lol), but watching your reactions and your open-minded approach, I'm sure I'll find interest in any other content you choose to react to, Jewish related or not. I'm just lucky that you started with the Jewish content, otherwise I would probably not reach your channel at all. It's your channel, and you should definitely do whatever interest you. Whatever content you choose to upload - I'm here, and I'm staying! That being said - - In some Galician Hasidiscs (Galicia is a historical and geographic region spanning what is now southeastern Poland and western Ukraine), children wear a kind of casket hat called dachek or dashik, which in Polish means roof (Dach). It is so named because of its small visor. The band wear casket hats. Different Hasidic groups have different types of hats, it requires a master degree to understand... 😜 - At 12:55 - Me'ever hayam = beyond the sea. Zanvil Weinberger has a beautiful voice (even though his songs aren't really my type). That song is originally Avraham Fried's (here live, not so good, I'm afraid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqLYZGCPl92Se5Y). It's quite a known one. It's a quote from the bible before Moses died, that he encourage the people of Israel to keep the Torah, and says: "Surely, this Instruction which I enjoin upon you this day is not too baffling for you, nor is it beyond reach. It is not in the heavens, that you should say, “Who among us can go up to the heavens and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?” Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who among us can cross to the other side of the sea and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it? No, the thing is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to observe it". Tzippy

Honestly, if you'd only know what the person is like on the other side of the keyboard, you wouldn't even be surprised with the things people write... Zanvil is amazing, and he is effort less.. he didn't even sing on his highest notes.. but you got a good performance of his. I am very curious for your next reaction videos on the Hassidic life... i am very amazed by the way you ask the exact perfect questions.. On that note - Thanks for everything you do, Thanks for the tremendous respect and dignity you give us Thanks for being so curious and quiz-full! If you want to learn more about the inner depth of Yiddishkeit (Judaism) search Rabbi Mannis Friedman (father of the singer Banny Friedman, and Brother of Avraham Fried) And you'll discover so much about truth, Love and Humanity, and most of all - What does it mean to serve G-D as a human being (as opposed to an angel... I will quote a saying of one of our holiest spiritual masters - The Ba'al Shem Tov. It says in the book of Psalms - the torah of Hashem is wholesome. Wholesome can be interpreted as well as untouched. So our master explains that even with all of our studying throughout thousands of years, all of our sages, all of the masters, all of the teaching and learning we constantly do - even after all of that, the torah is so big and deep that it is remained UNTOUCHED - WHOLESOME - thats the meaing of the torah is wholesome. So mate, you are scrapping the surface, and i wish you to discover so much more, to learn so much more and with every step you take you should feel - wow! I feel i am just scraping the surface... there is so much more. Thank you holly brother Btw, i don't think we know your name... we just refare to you as Portugease pai but we don't know your name... Regarding all the drama and emotion: Don't overthink it. Here's the reality: New KZbinrs and KZbin channels have many barriers to entry. Everyone dreams of blowing up. Few do. If you stumbled into a niche that is helping your channel grow, ride that train like a pony until it's depleted. If you got lucky and are on an upward trajectory from making music video reactions, take advantage of it. When it plateaus, then return to your desired content. These opportunities come rarely.

Among the connoisseurs of chazzanus (cantorial music) there is a special category for those cantors who "speak" as apposed to "sing" their songs. In other words, while some cantors are magnificent performers and singers, there are those special cantors who communicate their songs and are not just performing a show. Mostly, this special category is filled with cantors of the early days of recording, Zavel Kwartin, Yossel Rosenblatt, Pier Pinchik, Moshe Koussevitzky, et al. We have a precious few living cantors who can communicate what they're saying, where that words come straight from their hearts. Who among the living cantors finds themselves in this group is under discussion constantly. Sometimes a heartfelt communicator will find himself a new voice coach and adopt a new style, excluding him from that group. The only example I'm comfortable declaring (although he is not technically a cantor and his heartfelt sincerity depends a lot on the crowd's energy) is Avraham Fried.
@itsmejustletmein Жыл бұрын
We're not disagreeing, I guess I didn't express the idea properly. I'm saying that among the highly trained and fantastic chazzanim, while all are enjoyable to listen to, some really touch your heart with their tefillos. My point is not to include/exclude anyone in particular, because that's very subjective, rather just to share this theoretical framework.

The hats the boys are wearing are called Kasketlech, or kasketel in the singular inflection. The higher hats on the choir members are called “hoicher (high) Samet, or Beeber hit,” as opposed to flacher, or platchiger Beeber hit, meaning flat, or low beeber hit. They’re both “beeber,” meaning beaver fur hats. And yes, everyone knows this song. The gist of its meaning is that the Torah (bible) is attainable to all beings, and that it’s not trapped up in the stratosphere. The lyrics are from Deuteronomy 30:12-13

Firstly, ignore the commenters who think you work for them. It's your channel and your choice of what to do As you saw, Zanvil is an extremely versatile singer. We actually don't refer to him as a cantor although he can do cantorial pieces extremely well As to your question about the hats: the children's hats are worn by some hasidic children on special occasions and the mens' "top hats" are worn by hasidic men during the weekdays and by unmarried men on shabbos and holidays (while married men wear streimels on those occasions)

Wow, that's pretty crazy that he's not considered in the realm of Cantors when he's definitely able to get into that range

@@PortuguesePai the cantor title is generally only used for the singers that do strictly cantorial music such as Yitzchok Meir Helfgot, Yaakov Stark and Yanky Lemmer. Singers like Zanvil Weinberger and Shulem Lemmer who are more versatile dont use that title as to not limit themselves to cantorial gigs. Its not an insult in any way, it's more of a branding thing
