I wish I was born during the 80s. I love that type of music. Nobody do music like that today, R.I.P Roger Troutman. Love from France
@NigelXW5 жыл бұрын
Oh come on, you've got Daft Punk. Surely that must count for something? :)
@youngkiller68055 жыл бұрын
@@NigelXW Yeah, that count for something. But in France, people of my age (I'm 18) only listen to rap music that talks about drugs, weapons, you know. Ain't nobody listen to Zapp or Daft Punk (except 1 friend of mine)

I was born and raised in Dayton. We saw these guys all around - and Bootsy Collins, others! Dayton and Cincy - home of the funk. Love it!

I had the esteemed pleasure to meet Roger Troutman and Shirley Murdock when I went to school at Central State University in Ohio. All apart of the area they got there start working the Ohio Valley area and working closely with WDAO radio and John Turk Logan in Dayton, Ohio the Land of Funk or Birthplace of Funk. Unfortunately, it was six months before his brother took his life. This was shortly after the huge success of the California Love song. Miss their funk!

I saw Roger & Zapp live in Davenport, Iowa, in 1984. Better than P-Funk, better than Stevie Wonder, better than Gil Scott Heron. The show started, they played a couple of hits, and my friends and I shouted it was the best concert we had ever seen. No one could keep their seats as the funk took the place over. Then, heads in the audience began to turn. Roger was being carried from the back toward the stage on a throne by four men. He had not even begun singing. It was pandemonium as the show REALLY started...

To Louis Byrd. I don't think Larry was in this video. I believe by this time, he had exited the band from performing and he was handling the business affairs only. I didn't see him.

arg, he put the tube other dude had in his mouth in HIS MOUTH. I don't think I'd be doing that. Shoot, I'd have a THIRD keyboard on that side just for me.
@cole97773 жыл бұрын
That "tube" is a talk box. A talk box is an instrument that is used by putting a tube in your mouth and it changes the sound of your voice, it also allows you to make tons of different sounds with your mouth too. Don't get a talk box and auto tune mixed up, they're both totally different. Do a little research and you'll see what im talking about.
