There will never .. ever .. EVER .. Be a better remake of a Classic Song than this ONE riiiiight here!! Roger was a GENIUS.
@YAbaby18 ай бұрын
I don’t like remakes at all but this song is the only one I like and bump every day, actually I have always felt that Roger & Zapp made it better than Marvin Gaye . I was 16 in 1980 and I feel bad for everyone who missed the 80’s , they have no clue what fun it was to be a teenager in the 80’s .

It was the summer of 1983 here in Birmingham alabama at the historical fairgrounds known as the cross plex that roger and zapp took city of Birmingham by heart and hasn't loosen its grip yet; a grown man ain't suppose to cry but when I look back over the year and consider love I still have for( Roger's) zapp my eyes swells with tears of joy and sadness "untimely" live on Master of funk.

It's not mainstream anymore, but some smaller artists are making some great funk to rival the oldies even today, it's just hard to find because it's not promoted by big corporations because they just want the same old cookie cutter brainwashing music that they produce today. Look up artists like Temu, Mofak and Tuxedo. They are modern funk artists that stay old school.

Man I had the MOST fortunate pleasure to record in the studio with Roger back in '99 not long before he gained his wings. I even turned him on to my ese homies in Albuquerque and he recorded with them as well. While in the studio with us he played us some instrumentals that he produced that were independent of Zapp and MANNNNNNN them junts were funky!!!! I called one of my older cousins on speaker phone (who was and STILL IS a HUGE fan of Zapp and Roger) and he couldn't believe his ears that he was actually on the phone with a LIVING LEGEND. A solid and classy man Roger Troutman was. Dude was really down to earth and he felt UBER comfortable around people that he had NEVER met before in life. He even came to the studio everyday in a suit and tie!! One of the artists that he was working with told him after the 4th or 5th day "Roger you have been coming in here looking suave everyday since you 1st came" and te told us "women all over the world love me NOT because I'm rich and famous BUT because I dress nice everyday and I smell good everyday" while plucking on the lapels on his suit coat and dusting his shoulders off (looonnnggg before Jay Z).🤣 Rest In Power Roger Troutman🙏🙏
