Beautiful changes. FZ loved using these poly-chords as you know. The outro chord progression to his composition "Brown Shoes Don't Make It" or the chords through out "The Regyptian Strut" are worthy of analysis.

I like to work with unusual harmonies myself, and there are many timbres which get in the way of audiating harmony. I appreciate the fact that you're using a Rhodes piano patch. It's a very clear timbre.

Thanks, John! I agree about using a Rhodes sound. It helps clarify the harmony, for sure. It's the LA custom Rhodes from Keyscape.

Do you have any idea of the cluster chord from Zappa's America Drinks...?

From Absolutely Free? What part of the song?
@JellyMonster1 Жыл бұрын
@@Keith_Horn I just listened to it again on KZbin. Yes, it's from that album. I suppose the chord cluster is about halfway through. The song is so unusual but I really like it. Thanks.

The piano chord at :37 where he sings"you" is pretty gnarly. It almost sounds like a block cluster with notated outside notes of Eb and Gb (minor 10th above). Let's call it an Ebmin7 mud cluster.@@JellyMonster1

@@Keith_Horn yes, that's a good word for it, gnarly!
