ZAPU Gukurahundi Community Outreach

ZAPU has embarked on a community outreach programme, following the recent visit by President Emerson Mnangagwa to Bulawayo State House, where he finally gave the Chiefs the final programme of Gukurahundi Genocide Community Outreach. The Chiefs have been tasked to talk to their subjects about the genocide which happened in the 1980s, perpetrated by ZANU PF government against the Ndebele people of Matabeleland and the Midlands.
ZAPU was the primary target but has been excluded in the current proceedings. ZAPU President, Mr Sibangilizwe Nkomo and other ZAPU Leaders have embarked on a fact-finding mission. They are on a week-long engagement with the people of Matabeleland North and South, seeking their views on the subject of the genocide.
People are openly sharing harrowing stories of sadism perpetrated by the 5th brigade of Mr Robert Mugabe and Mnangagwa. People are still in deep pain but the government does not show the seriousness in tackling the genocide.
