You should get a color analysis. You have bright skin that’s why silver looks better than grey. Once in a while I’ll buy something out of my colors and I end up regretting it. If you like wearing subdued neutrals as a bright I find silver, white and shiny blacks are the most flattering. I like using velvet, silk, leather, patent leather, feathers, fur, and satin for my blacks. Rich blacks will make your skin shine. Stay away from muddy colors and dark greys. If I must wear something muted, it’s a muted blue or muted silver.

Sometimes we have to unlearn things….like thinking that neutrals are fashionable or that they convey wealth. There’s no science behind color. You can still be polished with a colorful outfit. All that is required is personal style, which is different than fashion. Watching a fellow melanated Black woman run away from color, or not know what to do with it, is disheartening…..
