Underneath the thread is wrapped around the hook and pulled up to make the chain stitch. Check out tambor beading tutorials. The difference here is that zardozi beading applies the decorations from the top of the frantic and tambor from the bottom.

Simply beautiful! I am inspired! I must learn this! I am used to cross stitching and punch needle work...but this is so delicate and detailed! I love it! I live in the US and I am teaching myself to make "paper" jewelry from watching videos. Zardozi is needed in a lot of the designs but it isn't available here. I am always looking online to purchase it. Next time I find some, I am buying A LOT of it because I am going to learn this ART! thank you for sharing your gift! And keep making the videos! They are GREAT!
