Good luck to your kids finding a spouse later on in life. I dont love you but lets make babies for bragging rights for smart kids. To feel comfort you must express comfort, to feel pain you express pain, to feel love you express love. Sleep for 3 hours and I’ll make you chai. Okay? Thats…love I guess. THATS bizarre man.

My Dad went through things that had him witness a few people he knew die in front of him. About 4 guys total. So with me, my Dad always says he loves me. I think people change once they get into their upper 60s. One of the men had a 2 yr old daughter and another he never got to meet.

@namehere2986 You definitely miss read and probably shouldn't speak on things you know nothing about. My brother has robbed him. I haven't done half the shit he did. When he worked for our dad, he would show up to the job then leave the employees and do nothing. Thinking he didn't have to work's because he's the bosses son. He spent the gas card on beer. He would bragged to the employees what he did during the day while they worked. And he also let his pit bull attack my puppy. Saying that it needed to happen. When my dog was just walking around. He made her bleed. Thankfully I broke it up in time. So I don't really feel sympathy for a narcissist. He also got into a fist fight with my dad as well. Whenever my parents got onto me or punished me, I never resorted to that. So to compare me to him when you don't know shit is fucking crazy but okay. His ex wife was warned by his doctor that he can be dangerous if not medicated for his bi polar

@@VSM101 I was talking about families, elders. We don't actually say I love you. Even I love you in Odia, Bengali literally *translates to I like you.* Even in romantic couples, RARELY (only in corny films) would you see the word *"Prema".* Usually, we say I like you. Odia: ମୁଁ ତମକୁ ଭଲ ପାଏ Mu tamaku bhala paye. Bengali: Ami tomaki bhalobashi ଭଲ (bhalaw) / bhaalo (bengali) = LIKE To express lot of love for food. We say I like it a *LOT.* *Bahut* bhala paye. Love from mothers, grandmothers is always expressed in *caress, a peck on cheek/forehead*, or *the classic grandma cupping your chin softly*, and then kissing her own hand that held your chin. It's like a blessing & love. Ofcourse not every family in billions of Indians is going to be exactly alike. But you've to be kidding me if you even TRY to pretend this is not how normally it works. Moms will "cook for you, smile, take care of you in your fever*, give you a blanket in winter, increase the fan for you in summer etc. But they don't tell you "I love you" everyday! They don't. That's not an Indian mother's love language. We don't tell an Uncle/a stranger I love you. We say "I like that chacha, or mamu etc..he's my favourite..". आप मुझे अच्छे लगते हैं। Achha = like. I cannot always be the perfect son or boyfriend, but I can use it to remind those I care about of my affection. It is such a simple and important tool for giving a quick dose of attention or affection that people really live off of, and I could not imagine living in a world where I don't get to remind the person Im with how much their time matters to me no matter what is going on.

I've always been told and been shown love and do the same for everyone else in my life. I even tell my friends "I love you, don't ever forget that" but also make sure they love themselves. These people agreeing saying love is an action are wrong, well half wrong. You need to hear it sometimes. I love hearing that both of y'all came from places that didn't share the love out loud and decided to change that with your families. That's how it should be. Actions speak louder than words, but words can cut you deeply or make you feel deeply. You get to choose how you're gonna make the people in your life feel towards you with both of those things. You never know when your last day will be or when someone you love may be taken from your life, and I wanna make sure one of the last things I said is gonna be "I love you"

What i can assume is that you where in an arranged marriage and because of the culture appropriation you now live with this man you never really loved .... Im not saying is something bad.. it's just sad to me..... And if that means to be married for ever I don't want it. You always know if a person loves you by their actions. your husband or wife tells you “I love you “ everyday, multiple times a day but they are out cheating every night, or they disrespect you verbally every day, maybe they are violent but he tells you that he loves you. Now you have a man who has never said the words but he grabs your hand when your on the couch watching a movie. Sneaks up behind you kisses your neck and grabs your ass. Appreciates and ask for your opinion on issues, does small things around the house and points it out and reminds you you asked him to do it a few days ago and he remembers to do it because he knew how important it was to you. I see this in a lot of cultures that aren’t American or typically associated with the western world. For example, my family was immigrants from Italy and the island of Sicily. They came to america and built new lives. My mom would often tell stories of my grandmother and grandfather and how it was growing up. She often explained how she knew the love was there and it existed but she very rarely heard it verbalized through an “ I love you “. Due to that, my mom made it her mission to make sure her kids knew she loved them because she remembered how it was never hearing I love yous, and knowing deep down she was loved but still having that anxiety as if maybe she wasn’t. Even now, I have never heard my grandpa verbally say I love you to me. My nana said it a lot through her older age, but I’ve never heard it from my grandpa. But I still know the love is there.

I do like it; it implies that it should be inherent, so to need a sentence saying “I love you” would be like telling someone “we are breathing” It’s very nice that to many people love is something shared rather than earned like it used to be (and still sometimes is) in the European, UK, and American cultures

I get that she’s doing comedy but “I will make chai for you” touched my heart. My parents have trouble saying “I love you” but every time I visit my dad makes me tea, then he cooks me dinner, & my mom offers to buy me groceries and whatever else I need. I feel the love in everything they do for me. Also, my dad has recently started saying “I love you too” when I say “I love you.” :)

I'm Indian, mostly, not from India for generations. This way of life continued with the old school parents. I've never heard that term from either of my parents to us or each other. To the grandkids- Every conversation. The most affectionate thing my parents tell me is when I'm sick and/or going out the house or away from them for some time I will get a take care of yourself or are you alright. That's the most affectionate thing my dad ever said to me when I was sick once, are you alright. I was not, but that did make me feel better knowing he acknowledged that I was not.

But like……. To me that just feels like your relationship is so weak if that is what it takes to have a warm feeling about the relationship if the other person were to pass away. I have friends who if I hadn’t spoken with in some time, and then passed away, we would still know both in hearts and our souls how much we appreciated each other

@@Matt-by3yd ....how is that weak? The same validation you seem to get in " knowing " that your friend is always going to be there seems to be the same validation she gets in reminding her loved ones she loves them. Ive always found it odd to judge people because they sin differently than you.....

@@user-goaway it’s ironic that you’re judging how it’s odd that I judge people for how they sin differently when you yourself are doing that exactly with me rn lmao. But anyways besides that point, my point is that if two people’s love for each other has to constantly be reminded from a place of routine and habit and fear and worry, and not from a genuine place of appetite and heart and spontaneity, then it doesn’t seem that genuine or deep to me lol. like I share affection with my friends and family sometimes, but that’s when I genuinely wanna do it, not because it’s a certain event such as oh we’re about to part ways. That’s just fake lol. My friends and family and I don’t need scripted fake lines to know we love each other, we know that in our hearts already
@user-goaway

@@Matt-by3yd ….finding something “odd” is not a judgment, it’s my observation. It’s best to own ones assumptions rather than placing them on others 🤷🏽‍♀️. I won’t fain that I read the rest. I scanned and saw the word “fake” somewhere at the bottom. Hypocrisy isn’t really my thing either. Good day, Sir 👍🏾

My siblings and I all grew up in a 2 parent household and they rarely said I love you to us but they absolutely showed it with how they raised us, sacrificed for us and led us by example in good behaviors.
