So many ppl look at Scoot's overall rookie season & call him a bust. The kid has been steadily improving as the season has progressed & is showing some major flashes. If he so much as makes a big leap on finishing at the rim & limiting turnovers in his 2nd season, this bust crowd is gonna be eating crow. He can already get to the rim at will, even w/ defenders sagging way off him behind the 3 line. He gets to the FT line very well for a rookie. Finishing at the rim & turnovers are VERY common issues for rookie PG's, especially when they're 19 to 20 years old. I would put $ on this kid being a future all-star.

He’s such a good defender, something we haven’t had in Portland at the PG position. He has relentless pressure.
@floydclark67106 ай бұрын
@@PapaGirth69420 Yeah. He's very aggressive on D. Already a much better defender than Simons (low bar, I know LOL)... But he has a legit high ceiling as a defender. He fouls way too much... But again, this is a VERY common issue w/ rookies. Literally all of Scoot's major flaws that he needs to fix are very common w/ rookies &/or rookie PG's. Ppl are just down on him because analysts misrepresented & in some cases flat out lied about his shot. Many ppl said he was already a better shooter than Westbrook & that his midrange is $. Almost all of the emphasis was on his 3 ball issues. Once I looked into his actual G-League stats (from 3, midrange & at the rim), it was obvious to me that he wasn't the NBA ready prospect that analysts billed him as. That said, his ceiling was still just as high in my eyes. G-League was God awful at developing talent & he was just a raw shooter. Doesn't have a broken form though. I think that he clearly has the work ethic & will bust his ass to make sure he improves.

@@PapaGirth69420He has the tenacity and strength to hold back players bigger than him. All that is needed is for Chauncey to run defensive drills, because the team defense is not good.

@@KSS_07 I think that Billups definitely gets way too much of the blame... But the guy needs to go. He's simply not a good HC. He's definitely improved this year, imo, but he's just not that guy. Good player mentor, but just a bad HC. Rip the bandaid off.

@gsp34286 ай бұрын
@@OfficialDMH3K I expected big things from Scoot, because I saw his ability and potential to be an immediate star. I thought he was the best talent I had seen at PG, better than Rose or Iverson, because he was the total package, so he didnt live up to those expectations, or close. But you saw the talent in that game. He will make a huge jump next year.

Scoot will be a superstar, you see his talent, his body, his athleticism, his jump shot looked good. He had a dissapointing first year, but look at guys like Kobe, Mcgrady and others in their first year. Guy will be a star, without a doubt.

He struggles with pacing himself. Once he gets that under control his % will go up, and yes I agree he's a future superstar.

Extremely hopeful about him. The kid is going to be a beast and his pure playmaking upside is going to straight up explode when he really gets that shot going. I think his playmaking ceiling is something like a Haliburton

@@TheBrooklynthrone easier to transition as a wing than a PG
@floydclark67105 ай бұрын
@@TheBrooklynthrone LOL That's a really simple-minded take, man. The only thing that this season proved in that debate is that Miller was more NBA ready. Ppl should have known this too. A wing who is already a good shooter is gonna have a much easier time transitioning to the NBA than a PG who is currently a bad shooter. It's really that simple. Also, Miller is a little older. Nobody should have expected Scoot to be super NBA ready. That doesn't change his potential ceiling though.
