Victor's blocks are unreal. He gets clearly beaten sometimes by the attacker but recovers amazingly to swat them out of nowhere.

And this is only something I’ve noticed from some of the best defenders in the game all time. And occasionally Anthony Davis when he came into the league. Wemby does not send shots into the 3rd row like Dwight liked to do. Wasting a possession. He blocks the ball downwards in a way that either him, or one of his teammates can grab the loose ball and start a break. Idk why more people don’t do this. I understand and loved Ben Wallace for sending the shot into the cheat seats and then screaming into the camera. But the basketball player in me always thought, why not just keep the ball in play where you’re gonna get it back?

Pop's management is probably going unnoticed. Most rookies have a hard time playing a full season and they get gassed out towards the end of the season but wemby looks fresh. Pop eased Wemby and limited him to 30 mins a game. No injuries and just keeps getting better and better.

Both of you guys can't pick 10 players who would be drafted ahead of victor, who is playing today. HE IS ALREADY TOP 10 and he got there by the end of his FIRST SEASON. he is far and away the best defender on the league... Perrnial 1st team all defense and dpoy . his offense has become more complete than people care to recognize. shooting passing handling. i'd pick him ahead of everyone except KD, Lebron, Steph, Jokic, Embiid, Kawhi. if he were on the Celtics in place of Tatum they'd be a sure thing to win it all. if he was on every other team you think is good, he'd make them better than their actual Star player. this is a ROOKIE ! Wemby will be the best player in the league next year. he will put on some muscle, he now has a year under his belt. If Wemby played 35 minutes a game he would be averaging about 25 points 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks a game as a rookie. Look at guys like Kobe and Giannis, and Mcgrady, none of these guys who were his age did anything their rookie year and they all improved drastically the next year. I expect Wemby to improve alot next year and be close to unstoppable, his game is so well rounded already, can handle, already a great shooter and passer, and the best defensive player in the league. Just needs to put on muscle, thats it.

Putting weight on his upper body would only raise his center of gravity giving him mobility and change of direction problems.

@@genosmith-cb6vqShaq played 8 more minutes per game than Wemby. Where he lags behind in points and rebounds, he outperformed Shaq in blocks, steals, and assists. Also less turnovers (actually shocking) and two less fouls per game which could be seen as giving up free points to the other team. It’s a shame Wemby didn’t get to play full minutes early in the season. It would’ve been interesting to compare their actual stats rather than theoretical stats for those extra eight minutes.

Victor would have the right to be more physical, which makes him even more dominant. He would adjust to the physical aspect, because he's smart and has all the tools. And he's way more skilled than any big everr. He would change the game even more than he will do in present NBA, because he can shoot/score from everywhere. Nobdoy in the 90's could do that. Overall, adjusting to the physicality of the game for Victor, would be way esaier than adjusting to Victoir's skills/IQ/physical tools for the others players, Shaq included.
