An absolutely beautiful film. Emotionally moving, sublime, and a tale that, in my humble opinion, is the equivalent of any Shakespearean tragedy and Platonic love story ever written. I have watched all of seasons 1, and 2, and now 10 episodes of season 3 of Zatoichi. I have visited Japan and acquired a great respect for Japanese culture and arts. These Zatoichi films are truly wonderful in every way, and I look forward to watching all the Zatoichi films, as well as many other Japanese films on this channel. Thank you for all your efforts.

Ichi, an itinerant blind masseur/swordsman. Everywhere he goes he is pursued by lawmen and Yakuza's bounty hunters. He helps the underdogs at his own expense with his lightning fast swordsmanship and moral code. One of the best tv series ever. Go, go Ichi, fight!

Shintaro Katsu is no doubt one of my favorite Japanese actors of all time. He played in alot of good roles like Hanzo The Razor, Hoodlum Priest, Zatoichi & Kochiyama Soshun But my favorite Shintaro Katsu role will always be Zatoichi. His role as the character in the 27 films & TV series is so phenomenal and he will always be the best actor to play the character perfectly

I managed to find the exact location where this episode was filmed: a small beach in Kyotango, Kyoto, nearby the Onaru Ancient Burial Mounds. The little shack is no longer there because the sea has claimed much of that beach.
