Actually Spartans are so fast that they're described as blurs of movement by other soldiers of the UNSC on the field and given the chaotic nature of the battle I doubt the ODSTs will even recognize the Spartan body, let alone see the Spartan fell

Are you blind to the story of Reach? The whole point of the characters dying was to show that not all Spartans were unstoppable and that Reach fell so fast everyone in Noble team didn't have time to accept Thoms death alongside a new member be added so fast. There was no room for the characters to be friendly. The characters were portrayed perfectly as Spartans aswell.

The Halo storyline is one of the saddest ones out there. The fact that a fictional story set 500 years after us moves so many of us is just crazy... If spartans were real humanity could never honor them enough for what they did... Goosebumps
