Zayn is a great vocalist but he needs to think of a stage alter-ego that way he can lose his inhibitions which can affect his confidence and the energy into his performance. Michael Jackson repeatedly said he's very shy by nature to the point of going numb around new people, but when he goes on stage he thinks of himself as another person. Zayn needs to do that, he needs to work with his band on what they're going to do; to up his energy.

+Larita saying that he lacks stage presence isnt hating. its constructive critisism, which every artist will and should get. he isnt perfect, every artist has flaws, like humans. while justin bieber may not have as good vocals as zayn, he engages with his crowd and puts on a show. good vocals can only take you that far. his stage presence is barely there, he has had 4 other hyper guys do the engaging and entertaining the crowd for him for the past 4 years, hes basically a beginner in the music industry as a solo artist. putting up a great show means keeping the crowd entertained, while good vocals have a lot to do with it, its not everything. adele doesnt put up a huge circus but her shows seem wonderful, she engages with people. maybe when he gets to do more of his own shows and gets used to being up on the stage alone he will get better, but its not hating when you point out that this was pretty boring to watch. hes naturally more quiet and shy but you have to learn to perform (which is more than just singing) to make the shows enjoyable.

I love Zayn very much and his vocals were awesome but as a true fan, he needs constructive criticism like every other artist does. Every artist have their bad moments with his/her performances. Though he did good, this was my least favorite of his solo career so far. I think he'll get better during his tours (stagewise) , but who knows? He was use to having 4 other dudes doing all the talking for him and singing with him. To be fair to him, the first and last time he sang on stage alone was his X-Factor audition at the age of 17 so I understand why this is hard for him. But now as a solo act and an adult, it's his responsibility to get the resources to have a stage coach, vocal coach, & study other artists [like Drake, Mick Jagger, Eminem, whoever...] to help him accelerate like what other artists do (and yes, every artist does this and still do) but I mostly blame his backing team, especially his manager(s) for being his worst support system while saying and doing nothing but letting him do what he want on stage. Also, I understand he's shy which is fine, but so were MJ, Prince, as well as Beyonce and among others (non dancing artists too) off stage before they perform but unlike Zayn, they were trained. First things first, get rid of the mic-stand for practice & get comfortable because he relies on it too much. He doesn't have to dance but he needs to move back and forth, doesn't matter. I don't normally say this about other modern artists but I strongly believe that Zayn has what it takes to be a legend/icon if he puts his work into it, no doubts (which I'm sure he can do) but he's better than this & someone (especially his FANS) needs to tell him (THE TRUTH) right now and tell him all of this now before it gets worst. I know his backing team won't & he's to "busy" not listening to his fans so... 😕😕 DON'T KILL ME! Just discuss below what you think!

hope nobody drags me but anyhow...zayn is a incredible vocalist n I'm really happy to see him doing his own music, good performance. I be waiting to see live performances but this had me a little disappointed. I know he's not use to being on stage on his own n he would master it eventually but I feel his team needs to work harder with him in breaking free on stage and to engage the crowd. I get annoyed every time he turn his back to the crowd, I guess it nerves but he need to get over it, he's been on stage for over 5 years and in his early 1D days he had a lot of stage presence. I know he can perform whatever songs he want to promote his album but song selection in my opinion was poor for the event. He has a great band intro but then goes into a slow ballad, kinda kills it for me. I really looking forward to seeing more of him live n hopefully on tour, he really need to work on his presence.

+BagoChemist I think to start things off, get rid of the mic stand (temporary) to help him practice without having to rely on it all the time. Aside from that, I agree. He needs training in stage presence and vocals (which most artists do) and the one thing I hate the most is his support system, starting with his fans who will celebrate his mistakes besides telling him the truth about his flaws because they are to scared to tell him and doesn't want to hurt him but constructive criticism will help him improve as an artist. I also think that his very young and inexperienced backup team and managers aren't being good mentors to him by getting him help. He cannot spend the rest of his career without professional training and no stage presence. Not only does his fans and back up team, but Zayn, himself, need to wake-up because an artists career is an actual job and shouldn't be taken for granted. I'm saying this because I care about him deeply.

Zayn tiene bastante talento y eso nadie lo niega, pero no tiene presencia en el escenario, al menos yo lo senti como ausente. Cuando estaba en One Direction esto no era tan notable como ahora. Pareciera que todo el tiempo esta buscando a alguien o esta perdido, tampoco habia como un contacto con el publico se sentia bastante lejano, esa fue mi impresion, la presentacion me parecio algo aburrida le faltaba mas movimiento o mas color, bueno eso es lo que pienso.

El talento nadie se lo quita y como dices se ve muy ausente y distante pero si nós percatamos su música no es del tono como para pararse y bailar es más serio a comparación a 1D pero sea como sea es muy bueno un deleite auditivo jajajaja

+Juan Alberto romero garcia Es que en realidad los integrantes de One Direction tampoco tienen presencia en el escenario, pero al estar en grupo no es tan notable. Se que las canciones que Zayn toco en este evento no eran para ponerse a bailar y todo, pero aun asi senti que faltaba algo de emocion. El es un artista con talento y tiene mucho potencial, puede que le este costando un poco ya que acaba de hacer su debut como solista, pero ya con el tiempo probablemente ira mejorando.

+javier moreno Nunca dije a quien preferia, es solo una opinion, en ningun momento afirme que me gustaba mas el espectaculo de Zayn o los que hace One Direction. La edad tampoco tiene alguna relacion con el tema. Si no vas a aportar un comentario con buenos fundamentos entonces ni siquiera te des el tiempo de escribirme.

+Giovanny Aynes yo pienso lo mismo, zayn es muy talentoso y tiene una voz hermosa pero no da todo en el escenario. Yo creo que es asi ahora porque el ya se habia acostumbrado a que los chicos de 1D hicieran el escandalo y el solo cantaba sus solos y ya, zayn siempre ha sido asi muy mistorioso y distante de hecho el es muy penoso y reservado supongo que es eso
