I have never been a fan of this song, not even when it was all that was playing on the radio... but since I've discovered this live performance (within the last 2 weeks), I simply CANNOT STOP replaying it over and over and over and over again... it's like a drug, once you start, you cannot stop... The issue does not lie within the artist, but often the studio producer.. they simply over-produce the recorded voice and take away the "soul" you hear in a live performance, the small imperfections make the voice unique, same as woman's beauty and make-up, if they cover up too much, they look artificial
