Great review. I’m considering getting one. Can you tell me how the tracking etc works if you are filming yourself, but want to use the main camera? All of the tracking stuff I’ve seen has involved selecting the subject on the screen. Also, do the tracking settings, including the framing mode, stick for using the gimbal in apps other than the insta360 app? Like BlackMagic Camera app for example.

If you have iPhone, you can do that via Apple dock as I show that in the videos. You just enable the tracking with a trigger you can use it in blackmagic camera but as I shown it is a bit slower, not suitable for fast movements

@ Excellent. But does the tracking features like Framing position (can’t remember what it’s called) stay active. My problem with pretty much all tracking features on pretty much all phone gimbals is they insist on having the head in the middle of the screen :)

Thank you for your question. The tripod is pretty stable. The only time I would use sturdier tripod would be if I would be filming outdoors and it would be windy day.

Hi Zdenka, I am going to be hiking the Camino (500 mile backpacking trip). I want to stay light, and not be redundant. So I plan on just bringing my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Which gimbal would work for that kind of situation? I have the 360 Flow, and to be honest, I was never impressed with the build quality of it-it seemed very flimsy and fragile. I wish I had purchased the DJI OM6. But now the DJI OM6 is two years old. Is this Flow 2 much better? Do you think DJI will release the OM7 soon? I don’t want to waste my money again. I do like that it uses a MagSafe mount, making setup quicker. Does that MagSafe mount work on the original Flow? What would you bring, if you were going to hike 500 miles with two 15 year old kids… wanting to capture footage? Thanks for your help Zdenka. I always appreciate your knowledge and experience.

Thank you very much again for a great gimbal video. Question: Can it hold without problems a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and switch between landscape and portrait ? What if the phone is in a cage, and what if lenses are used on the phone, giving it an out of balance weight at the lens end ?

You are very welcome. This gimbal is for light setup. I wouldn’t recommend using it with cage. I don’t think it can even fit it in.

I have iSteady v3... It's more than enough... Very compact... Good stabilization... If you want to. rig your phone then you may have to look for bigger gimbals

Like the selfie mode mirror and multiple tracking, 360-degree tracking, etc., all manufacturers are improving their gimbals each year, which is overwhelming. I resold them all, I had OSMO 6, Zhiyun 5s, then Hohem Isteady 6. Now I have Hohem iSteady V3(bought, because of portability).

It is hard to compare those two because one is compact, small good for travel and every day use and the big one which is Hohe is for advanced filmmaking. Technically they can’t be placed in the same category.

I have a major surgery next month and need someone else to takeover for me as I recover for 3 months and I’m looking to order the new Pro 2 Flow to replace my Hohem M6 so it’s easier for them to setup but I’m not sure about its stability in comparison. Is there any way you can let me know if that’s worth my investment before your video drops as it takes a longer time to ship here to Australia as well, I won’t get it in time. Great video, i was hoping in futility it would be compatible with their own cameras, like ace pro or X4 via attachments but thats a pretty big wish upon a star…still worth having, itll work with my ipod and i can track and RC 😊with my iphone or vice versa. Hi Zdenka, I want to 4k record my kids football match on 35x50 Metres ground auto tracking the football wherever it travels. Also auto zooming on the football when the ball is far away from my view. I stand at the centre line on one side of the ground. Q1. Whats the max tracking distance for the insta360 Flow 2 Pro. Q2. Can I auto restrict and set the PAN action with some bounds from left corner to right corner of ground only Q3. Can I auto restrict and set the zoom range to a certain fixed level only (not zooming too much). Q4. Can I record 4k@60 or 4k@30 with the auto tracking and auto zooming feature turned ON on android phones (mine is Xiaomi 14 Ultra). Can you please create a video demoing how well it works for my use case above. I have tried XbotGo and Hohem iSteady and they fail at tracking football beyond 10 Metres.

I like the new elbow and better tripod feet, but bad move not being more compatible with Android outside of app. I bought the Hohem M7 and V3, better tracking and compatible with any app or phone. Loving Hohem more and more. Im hoping for an MT3 that combines the remote of the M7 with the payload and versatility of the MT2.
