@@thembabarry5126 Not for me. I had far post corners until that Zealand video. Ollie Dixon used his corner routine in his save. Not long after that video, Zealand did a streamer showdown, used that corner routine and it became the meta. Maybe Tifo and The FM Podcast didn't copy Zealand but there are very traceable lines between the 2.

Lol my first time playing fm was fm19 with Liverpool and no matter what I did in the tactics or who I put on the field I kept losing against United and Pogba specifically kicks my butt. On my last attempt where I was like, if I lose then fuck it I'm moving on, I won somehow.

Yeah I won't lie Ive been playing FM since 2012 and the old guides back then told you to aim corners at the near post. Maybe it's the specifics that people have tweaked but near post corner routine had been around for a while.

Traits are great. I train "Uses outside of foot" for one footed players as long as their stats let them do so. Also, the art and Devine's voice are 75% of why I watch Tifo.

Not trying to be a jerk, but from my experience it feels like you're actively handicapping yourself by trying to play anything other than a high pressing system. No matter if you're a good team or an underdog. And it's kinda overstating the quality of the match engine to claim otherwise.

@@edwardking9359 this is true. I run a Vertical Tika - Taka with BATE and own the league. It even works fine against low second, upper third tier teams from the big 5 leagues. You just gotta spend a bit more time searching for the players that fit your system.

@@edwardking9359 Gegenpressing is a possesion based tactic. You aim to restrict how much the opposition has the ball. What does underperform is the low-possession systems, like counterattacking low press, long ball systems. It worked well earlier, especially with fast strikers. But now, you gotta press high and own the ball.

I love Tifo but have found alot of the FM stuff is fine but quite broad and not as much depth as I like but I am a hardcore FM player so realise this is not the audience they are aiming this at.

This video was good for a newer or non FM player. Iain Macintosh had a series of podcasts about some of the game’s finer points - worth a listen. This is kinda the executive summary with Joe’s perfect voice. The best guidance on the pod and video was the set piece guidance which I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a distillation of on your and Kevin Chapman’s channels.

I recently moved to Geleen in Holland. Went to my local club FC Geleen Zuid yesterday. Went to watch the u13s playing. They had this wonder kid who is tall, athletic striker in the same mold as Drogba. He was released last season at a pro club. He has all the attributes a FM manager would fall over for. Would love to coach this team. So I c live my FM dream in real life.

1) Three center backs is harder to make work in every version of the game. 2) The 4-3-3 is always one of the best formations. Since at least FM11.

You can and should put two players on lurk outside the box on attacking corners. It makes it twice as likely your guys will get to the long middle clearance before whichever defender is set on top of the box duty. And yes they should be fast and good defensively in space. I think anticipation helps a lot too.

did they just call FM set pieces rewarding!? i could score 6 set piece goals in a champions league final against Real Madrid and that endless dragging and switching between left/right/attack/defend/direct/indirect/throws/corners for every game will still just be a massive laborious chore. #1 thing that needs reworking in the game

Anyone else an FM mobile player only and too used to winning absolutely everything with minimal effort, leaving you totally incapable of playing the full version ? I've won 9 champion's league's back to back with Northampton, but tried a friendly on my friends full version as real Madrid playing Cowdenbeath and struggled to get a 0-0 draw 😂 haven't played proper FM since 2011 and it's changed so much.

a lot of things in this video i strongly disagree with, breaking the game is still possible, i wouldnt play if it wasnt, you dont need multiple tactics or to make changes to your tactic, you need one very attacking tactic that breaks the game, when taking over a new team you don't need to take it slow and see what works, you need to punt all the players out the door and buy ones that fit your game breaking tactic

There aren't any game breaking tactics anymore in the newer FMs anymore, the success of a tactic just depends on how well your players fit in it and how well it matches up against your opposition.

attacking football with worse players than the opposition is an easy way to get steamrolled. in older FMs you could go with certain tactics that made you very likely to win even against far better teams man for man, and you can't do that in 21. even the best tactics get about 2 points per game if you aren't clear favourites in terms of personnel
