Assembly elections for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir will be held from September 18 to October 1, the Election Commission announced on Friday (August 16, 2024). While polling in Jammu and Kashmir will be held across three phases, Haryana will have one phase. The counting of votes will take place on October 4, 2024. Maharashtra and Jharkhand are the other States that will go to polls this year.
Calcutta High Court on RG Kar Hospital: बंगाल के आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज में ट्रेनी डॉक्टर के बलात्कार और हत्या के बाद अस्पताल में हुए बवाल का मामला लगातार तूल पकड़ रहा है. मामले में ताजा अपडेट की बात करें तो कलकत्ता हाईकोर्ट ने बेहद तल्ख टिप्पणी करते हुए ममता बनर्जी की अगुवाई वाली राज्य सरकार को फटकार लगाई है. हाईकोर्ट ने वारदात पर गंभीर चिंता जताई है. हाईकोर्ट ने इस पर तल्ख टिप्पणी करते हुए ये भी कहा, 'यह सरकार की नाकामी है और मेडिकल कॉलेज को बंद कर देना चाहिए. अस्पताल में तोड़फोड़ और भीड़ का कृत्य सीधे सीधे राज्य सरकार की मशीनरी का फेल होना है'.
