I think the change for Paragon is understandable. Require 34 copies to P4 a Celestial. Let say f2p can get an S+ for free which is 14 copies. Whales have to pay for 20 extra copies to max it. 20 x 30 pulls (average luck) = 600 summons x 56 crystal/ each summon. Total = 34k gems = $1200. So if someone can use their free char to beat $1200 char. Nobody would pay to buy P4, how do we have more updates if company has no revenue. I think if whales pay $2000-3000 per month to buy many packs from the game to have update for all players, they should have an advantage to keep their rank 1. Will you spend money if your P4 defense lose to S+ or P1 attackers? Just be honest.

​@@TaiNguyen-on3cz A small boost in stats makes a huge difference in this game, so I'm not really sure they need to make the stat difference this massive... Basically, you're just saying that whales should be stronger - we all agree - but we're discussing here this specific change. S+ comps already had very little chance of beating a proper P4 comp, so not sure this change was needed. IMO what they're doing isn't fine tuning... they're simply announcing a buff in the hopes of converting a few extra people to impulsively swipe into whale category. The question is: Is it worth the very bad rep with mid spenders? Will it really be a net increase in revenue and game health or will it backfire? I honestly think it'll backfire, balancing for whales is a delicate thing... it's not simply "more powerful whales = more revenue"... They should probably do smth different... keep it linear, but lower power of p1 while increasing p4, so from 10/20/30/40 to 5/17/33/50 or smth. The idea there is that major whales can get their power trip, while not messing up the balance for mid-spenders and light whales who enjoy the challenge.

@ right now some S+ players brag about beating P4 defense. if you were that P4, spent $1200 for each char the minimum. Tell me you don’t quit and still buying monthly? If someone spent less money and can’t win, then quit, what is the logic in that? It is important to know your own place and be happy. It’s like hating someone drive a car faster than you driving a bike..

Saying balanced but not giving context means nothing dude. Give an example that makes sense, fair for everyone, worth everyone investment. Don’t just say balanced and bias to f2p should beat whales.

You can’t counter it if you don’t have a paragon of the same rank. Old paragon can be countered by playing smart while new paragon is a hidden skill/passive behind a steep paywall.

they need to revert these changes on global. these changes make no sense and just demoralizes everyone who is even trying to be slightly competitive. I hope every region is as negatively vocal about this to get these changes reverted because this is completely unacceptable.

@@edumazieri well maybe i have wrong about their profit. But the specific changes were minor imo. About the paragon upgrade, especially with the latest talent buff tile when pvp was so broken that Paragon is meaningless, a minor buff is needed for who those who pay a lot. And about gacha cosmetic, that shouldnt be concerned by f2p anyway.

@@nvhanh6094 sure but they could create paragon 5 for example, that would create a higher ceiling, added incentive to spend, and wouldn't mess with mid-spender balance. intimidation/inspiration is just TOO impactful, it'll be the ONLY thing that matters. Rather than spending more for each new hero that releases, people will just get their rabbits to P4 and win with that... I wouldn't be surprised if revenue tanks after this. (I kinda like the cosmetics thing, in fact I think there's a lot of potential to monetize in other ways that don't risk messing with the delicate balance of the game)

I mean if 5 p1 fight 5 s+, the S+ have 35% reduced buffs, energy, shields, heals and the P1's gain 35% more, thats a 70% dif at a basic level its gross. a P2/p3 team vs a p3/p4 team has 110% dif. You basically shut off the enemies characters, its too drastic.

If they go through with this on global, it will absolutely kill PvP. I'm a low spender and I've been playing since launch and I don't have a single P unit. I could probably focus on getting them, but I've been more focused on getting more units to S+. It just makes the disparity between F2P and whales even more drastic than it already was.

I think they could increase the numbers each line do, but only allow players to activate 1/2 lines. Such that there are more strategies in the selection, as well as balance paragon's impact on different types of units. While does not make difference between 1 paragon level impossible to beat.

I suspect they will nerf Intimidation/Inspiration before it comes to global because of the backlash. But as a "baby whale"/dolphin my confidence in the devs is totally broken and I probably will not spend any more money on this game since it seems they're willing to just destroy their game at a moment's notice. So disappointed since the actual game part of this game is so well made and something I really enjoy. I felt fine about spending the money I've given them but now it's just a bitter taste.

I don't even particularly care for pvp, I'm sure the whales are happy they can get an easy auto win now. But now with this change, it's like what are they going to change next for whales? They are the main income source after all, they will cater to them over anyone else

I think this change will backfire for them. I totally get that P4 teams should beat S+ teams, that's fine. But this new stats are a sort of "insta-win/lose" condition... each paragon level is on a different tier now. There's no longer any reason to compete with teams over and below your paragon level, so for everyone regardless of spending level >> I'd recommend NOT upgrading any hero to the next paragon tier or your balance will be fucked

Paragon upgrades for the regular heroes isn’t a horrible idea. But whales with paragon Hypo/Celes are gonna be untouchable. People will legit quit PVP when this happens. I’ve already seen many players drop off in Arena this season. I guess they wanna speedrun PVP into whale wars only.

As a mostly F2P player (I spent $5 because I liked one armor skin a while ago), I can get a little discouraged from having to compete against P2W players. The more they add to the game the harder it is for me to keep up, especially when a new hero is released that changes the meta. Closing the gap between F2P and P2W is a good idea from my perspective. Widening the gap means there is less of a reason for me to play. However, that would be the case for either side that does not benefit from this change. With that said, I am 1 hero away from unlocking paragon as virtually F2P player (although I know I'm considered a low spender now). I don't intend on spending any more on this game.

Change was one of the many reasons I’ll be dropping the game after this season. Widening the gap between F2P and P2W is NOT the way to retain players. It’s evident that player retention falls off incredibly hard and is a pretty big problem towards the latter half of a season. My guild in S636 was #1 for two seasons and by the end of this season, the entire server was dead and it was impossible to get any new recruits to fill slots for players who left for similar reasons - this has gone on for over a month. Seems like they’re leaning even more heavily into monetizing their already expensive game. With the addition to heavily incentivizing Paragon levels to introducing gatcha cosmetics. It’s all getting a bit much. I myself am a “whale” at VIP 19 but unlike many other gatchas where you can “stop” spending after a certain point and still keep up/complete new content. AFKJ consistently demands you to pay to keep up to stay at the top. It’s an unending treadmill which was fun at first but has gotten stale as time went on.

It's good, not great. But the devs need a way to earn more money to keep this game alive. That's how gacha games are-if you pay, you win. If you look at it, most whales are not happy that F2Ps can compete in PvP even after spending a lot of money building their accounts. For me, that's a bit unfair for them. You should know how to set your expectations in the game. If you are F2P, you can't just be in the top 10 without spending anything, just saying.

People dont realize this drasticlly slows Power Creep. The best example is what Lily May did to Eironn PvP meta. One S+ Lily completly shutted down Eironn comps regardless if they were p2/p3/p4. So you instantly lost ALL the investment you had in your Eironn, Arden, Carolina. With this change Lily May can only counter your comp if her entire team is same or above paragon level. It makes meta shifting way slower for every f2pl/low&mid spender. You dont instantly wake up and see 20 Arena loses because new turbo broken hero just dropped. Whale and Krakens already are in their own league and argument that now you have no chance against them is stupid, because you never had in the first place. DR is unaffected. Overall its great chamge that benefits everyone regardless of amount you spend.

@@mlekosojowe7312 I enjoy playing pvp I could beat p1 and p2 heroes with some strategy using my supreme+ heroes, in my server for supreme arena almost all players in first 30 rankers have atleast p1 heroes, with the new additional rivalry stat i don't think I can touch them. The debuff itself will render my heroes powerless. I have played afk arena before, I remember these guys bringing stat boost with cosmetics so it's better to oppose this now unless you are a whale who enjoys just beating people with no strategy at all

Hard disagree! true, i maybe win only 1 in 15 matches against P4 whale on my server with my P1 Lily May, but against P2 or P3 i usually go 50/50 because countering enemy team matters and not just pure stats. This removes any strategy from the game. And this doesnt remove power creep, but creates power chasm. So of course you will think it slows the game down since it launches whales so far ahead that they will be unreachable for a very long time.

What you said doesn't make sense at all, new heroes breaking the meta don't have anything to do with paragon stat increase, new heroes released don't affect whales at all, this makes me doubt whether you have seen whales. When meta breaking characters when released especially lilly may everyone got her including whales. So what's your point. For f2p or low spender id you are interested in pvp you at least had a chance with s+ heroes now with major debuff and boost of stats there is no way you can beat them. Let's say you are a mid lvl spender earlier you had a chance to beat them now you can't touch them, don't say that you can't do that before, That's just not true you could with good formation and strategy.

Also in afk arena they released cosmetics with stat boost in the test server. Luckily Enough people made noise so they removed them. If you like this game you should protest because these kinds of changes can break games

i want to explain a lot of things but here to make it simple . it doesnt rly affect f2p or low spender because their competition is with the same bubble , its affect middle spender that can compete with higher spender A LOT (take a look at volkin videos) . im top 6-10 in arena (im vip 13 and have mostly p1 heroes) and i beat tons of p2 players that now ranked 10-20 . i play smart i analyze everything BUT now i cant beat them because the stats diff is too massive (i dont even thing you can beat 1 tier above with this stats now) . i even beat some of p2 mixed p3 players that ranked 6-4 with some trial error tons of match and now i cant do it anymore and i expect after this ill get kicked out top 20 easily (the server is stacked as fk , even top 20 filled with vip 14++ even more for top 5) top 3 is full p4 hereos with +20++ eq . cant outsmart them anymore now they can easily win with that massive buffs . it will affect low to mid spender A LOT now theres huge barrier to outsmart higher tier ppl . but thank god its only arena at the very least

It's a good change, it's a bad idea to always listen and appeal to F2p players. The game won't survive that way unless it's League of legends popular. They will play any game that has good mechanics regardless. Even if acouple hundred quits, it is far better than people like me quitting or worst, the oil company's son/daughter or other players that effortlessly puts thousands of dollars in this game per month.

you do realize this affect the mid spenders that if they quit thats also a revenue loss + you get to compete with less players cause the only players left in the game will be either completely f2ps that dont care about pvp or P4 whole roster kind of players that are not in a big volume to begin with, lower player count affect the image of a game not just money.

That's a biig mistake not caring for all your customers just the rich ones , yes mid spenders etc will quit so you lose this revenue and also they will leave bad review and damage your reputation of the game also you can expect no new players since now they are aware of the p2w gap , new whales won't come as well since the game will have bad ratings etc they will just go to different gacha, so best case scenario you hold your finances for another 2 seasons and then call it a day once the whales are bored of their dead servers.

Love it when F2p hide behind the 'mid spender' argument to try and save themselves. The reality is, most of you have already sunk too much time into the game to leave (and your 'mid spenders' are even more locked in). Even if you all quit tomorrow, you'd be replaced in no time because the game has great advertising and solid mechanics that keep pulling in new players just like you. Do you really think you scare the company with your 'damaged reputation and lower player count' threats? People like you guys have been saying this for years about games like Summoners War and Diablo Immortal, games that are 10x more P2W than AFK journey-and guess what? Those games are still thriving. Companies nowadays know better than to listen to F2p. Because you know what happens when they listen to you guys? Game quality significantly tanks, free rewards dry up, and their good devs move on to different projects.

Games like Summoners War and Diablo Immortal have been far more P2W for years, and they’re still thriving. Why? Because they know their core audience: the whales who drop hundreds of thousands per month, not 'mid spenders' like you or your P2 friends. You can keep pretending the game will collapse without you, but the reality is, the devs know most of you have already sunk too much into the game to leave. Even if you did, you’d be replaced in no time by new players drawn in by the game’s gameplay and advertising. So save the moral outrage-it’s not scaring anyone. The devs aren’t obligated to keep you happy, that’s your own delusion, but what they do know is chasing your approval is a fast track to going broke.
