I agree but the issue becomes that guys like Carter Verhaeghe would have absolutely zero cool cards since he was seen as below a C prospect when he came into the league his rookie year. Sometimes you gotta take swings on rookies for checklists, but you also can’t make a box worth $20 and charge $250

So. As you know, I rarely vent. But I really feel for you in this vid. One, I hate when my editing or sound goes haywire. No one realizes how time consuming research and editing can be. Two, UD mutilated the product. It's old pre-2016 configuration was SPA Lite, with really inventive bling. Now, they tossed low-end unimaginative bling into SPA, and turned both SPx and BD into an unconscionable overpriced dog's breakfast with two long a checklist yet too few cards. They did so under the guise that the pre-2016 set was too expensive to manufacture. Now, they overprint fewer cards. My real qualm is that it really is impossible to buy any mid to high-end product on release day, as we know full well the price will halve in six months. Divorced from the Bedard premium. Unlike you, I don't really monetize (which is why I can be less dramatic, views focused, or social media friendly.) And I'll tell you right now that if Leaf were to produce UD Black as, say, a three card unlicensed product, it would be stellar and $100. UD rarely makes sensible decisions related to mid-end products. I'd also argue that $1,000 for 2021-22 The Cup is farcical. SPx and BD weren't broken for 15 to 20 years. Why did they have to break them? Know your clientele, and tier. SPx should be six to eight packs, like Ice or Synergy. Then, we would all be happy. I don't buy any argument related to UD sunk costs and margins.
