Zeiss Distagon T* 28mm f/2 ZF.2 lens (Test Footage)

Test footage of this beautiful wide angle lens. Looking specifically at contrast, sharpness, colour rendition and breathing.
This was shot in Devil's Dyke, UK on a Blackmagic 4K Production camera. Wide landscape shots at f5.6 - f8. Closeups at f2 - f4. Using a Tiffen Variable ND.
Overall I am very impressed with this lens. It is as sharp as it gets even wide open, no doubt (maybe too much...), it has a wonderful character and colour rendition as you can expect from Zeiss glass, amazing skin tones and contrast, pleasing bokeh. LoCAs are minimal below f4 and could only really see some in high contrast areas. Breathing is minimal as it's expected with this family of lenses too.
Another note is that I am very impressed with its close focus capabilities. Even though the ring claims it focuses at 24 cm, I was able to focus closer than that. Very long throw on the short side which makes for interesting closeups and almost macro shots.
I know this one is going to be in the bag with me all the time and it's going to be a perfect wide addition to my Zeiss 50 and 85 lenses (both Contax).

yeah, the "actor" is actually my friend whom I'm teaching some photography tips. He kept walking into my shots so I ended up taking advantage of that and featuring him in the film. He's the singer too! :)
