Great, thank you so much for this video! Going to use it to perform maintenance on my grandfather's old Nettar 516/2 now that my go-to camera repair guy has sadly passed away. Pretty sure he was among the last people in the world to have taken actual Zeiss-held classes on how to repair and maintain these, the Contaflex, Contarex etc. Quite a loss.

Is it also possible to clean/oil/lubricate the spring inside the camera attached to the shutter release, and if so, what do I use -- graphite powder or lubricant?

Graag video! I have this camera and the shutter button works great when there is no film in the camera but when i put film in the camera it no longer works. I have to Manuel realese the shutter at the front of the camera. Any ideas?

If you will service the shutter, you have to remove it from the camera and take it apart, cleaning the shutter leaves one by one. There's more oil that will replace the little that you removed by your service. It'll work for a limited time, then you have to clean again..

My shutter speeds are clearly to slow and not accurate, do you take on repairs ? The silver cocking lever is so slow or doesn’t reset ?

Thank you, just a little more detail and I would have been willing to tackle the job on my own camera. Although I think it may need a bit more than this. How does one ensure the lens is focused again?

I think the Ikon has a single start thread (it's been a while) if so, your golden, just keep the shims. If it's multi-start, focus on a infinity point like a church steeple with a ground glass plate on the film plane and rotate the focus ring to match then tighten up the grub screws.

My nettar front element thread can be screwed in 2 points... One aligning the arrow around the stop screw hole/infinity mark and the other around the 7 feet mark. Only when starting from the second point the lens will reach infinity (also that leaves a little gap). My model has a novar anasrigmat 75mm f4.5 with a prontor sv shutter if that can help anyone...

A fine pair of hairspring tweezer (5A) and a lot of patience. Sorry, I don't know of a better way. There are some Copal service manuals available online if you hunt around for them

What kind of lubricant do you use?

I clean the mechanism with lighter fluid or a ultrasonic cleaner then apply mobius watch oil where needed.
