I've had them vanish on me by 3 and 4am multiple times. Could still see the beam until i got closer to it, then nothing. Was super annoying, until i realized that a good trick to farming them is to either hop over to a sky island, or ride a dragon, during the spawn time, jump off, and they actually have a good chance to spawn right on top of you. Then you can even catch them midair 😊

I have had them disappear a couple times. Have had some luck going back to where I was when they started to fall and watch where they landed. If it isn’t too close to 5 they have landed again near where they first fell. Added bonus: You CAN get 2 stars fragments a night. If you watch a star fragment fall, you can still get a second one to spawn while skydiving. I always go for the easy star but get excited when I see a beam in the distance.

@@TheSecretLover yeah I've totally had that happen! I actually saw one fall one night, dived for it, had one spawn next to me, hit the ground and then land in water just to despawn immediately, and then one spawned right next to me again as i was still diving lol caught that one in midair and then got that original one that i saw fall. I've also seen one fall, followed the beam, noticed it was on the side of a mountain as i was diving, then as i got closer, the beam disappeared and the star started tumbling down the mountain with me on its trail, and then i watched it despawn right in front of me bcuz i think it got too far away. That one was annoying lol

Okay, I haven't collected that many fragments, but over half have been from a Skyland dive midair collection... 🤔

The same thing happened to me. Also fast travel caused them to respawn sometimes.

Sky diving helps with getting fragments too, I've noticed they like to spawn above you while falling. Might help with the pacing of farming these

Here’s how you do it. Go to the gerudo caynon sky view tower when night falls. Shoot up and move your camera to an overview. A star will fall next to you. Collect it and sit by the nearby camp fire until the next night. Go to the mayam shrine in the sky. Fast travel and run off the left side. Do the same thing you did at the tower. One will fall next to you. Go back to the tower sleep and repeat.

Does this happens only in Gerudo Skyview tower , did you try this on other towers ?

Star Fragments can only spawn inside your field of view. That' s why whenever you jump down from a Sky Island and point the camera directly down, one will appear right next to you. If you look at the horizon, you widen the area in which it can land. Edit: Okay, I gotta say this method is also good. Teleporting from tower to tower and jumping down can wear you out after a while. Plus, this spot has a very beautiful view. You can almost see every key loction of the game.

I have better luck doing the same thing but in the sky by finding those small floating blocks. I have also found 3 in one night! Your video still helped me and explained so much and I really like the majoras mask observatory music. Very nostalgic. Liked and subscribed!

Great video. I had no idea you could fast travel around to get closer to them lol. Have all the armor upgraded besides the Hero sets so I’m gonna be farming for awhile unfortunately. Side note : I was launching out of a tower the other day and saw one land pretty close by. As I was headed over another one dropped right in front of me. I guess that usually doesn’t happen, but I’m not complaining.

I think they increased the number of fragment spawns per hour in a patch or so. Either that or I'm having incredibly good luck with this method. I get around 12 fragments per hour using this method. Thank you!

Incidentally, everytime I teleport to a skytower during the time a star spawns, I see almost everytime, sometimes even on the same in game night.

you got til 5am to pick them up game time, i reach one and it disappeared on me, twice i was free falling from a tower and the star pass right beside me.

Ive been having bad luck with star fragments. Just now I had a second star fragment fall just when I got close to one and the one I was close to disappeared. Then when I got to the second it fell off a cliff into the lake and was gone.

No go to Gerudo sky tower and wait until night at the cooking pot to the right of the tower after waiting use the tower to shoot yourself into the sky and while you’re falling a star will fall with you. Then wait at the fire again the fast travel to Mayan shrine in the sky. Go to the right after the fast travel and jump off and a star will eventually fall there too. Repeat until you have all the star fragments you need. You’re welcome

5 an hour is not much. I stand on the same place as botw. On highest mountain on dueling peaks and look out over Central hyrule. That way you get 2 every night.

I've been having good luck by sleeping until night at a fire, then just going to random towers, shooting myself into the air, and then letting myself freefall back down. Quite often a star fragment will fly by right next to you on the way down and then you can often pick it up mid-air with a quick dive. The Mount Lanayru tower seems to be especially good for this method.

This is not efficient at all. The best way to do this in BotW was do the same but on the top of duelling peaks overlooking the plateau and hyrule field, larger area and higher up. though actually a better way to do this in TotK is be on high up sky islands at night and just slowly jump off and wait to hear a jingle and you will get stars falling. Plus you often find when you jump off of dragons at night, specifically the light dragon a star falls as you are on your way back to the surface.
