And when she wants to experience joy, she doesn't make another Zelda take over her work; she makes a new Zelda and tells her to have adventures. It's enough for her that at least some other version gets to be happy.

There's a bunch of people just saying summon zeldas to do work for you, but that's missing the point. After leaving just resulted in her getting thrown back to work with a bigger pile she couldn't force someone else to suffer that, instead she summoned a zelda that could be free of work. She was thrust into that work by her family, so she just can't do the same thing to herself.
@ImFangzBro3 ай бұрын
I mean, the more of her there are, the less work each one has to do. I imagine there's an alternative variant where she turns into a tyrant and makes the kingdom in her own image by replacing all the citizens with herself, and it all started because she wanted one clone for each piece of paperwork. Those are my favorite kind of bad ends, the vengeful ones.
@Teknanam3 ай бұрын

I love that the punchline of these videos is consistently Zelda giving up and making a clone of herself
@SheppySheps3 ай бұрын
My take on the plot so far: Before the events of Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda becomes the de facto retainer of the kingdom because of how overpowered her duplication magic is, and Links role becomes more secretarial. Despite being such a capable warrior, she is still royalty and must sign paperwork to enact policy. Knowing she cannot escape her fate, she made a copy of herself, a version of her that can be free to do as she pleases as a self-sacrificing measure. She doesn't want anyone to experience the extreme mundanity of royal administrative duties, and making copies of herself to help with it would be unethical and unfair to those copies. A while after, Ganon resurrects (as he does), and causes the usual havoc in the kingdom, stealing the Triforce in the process. The free zelda goes on an epic adventure to get the Triforce back. In a foolish lapse of judgment and inflated pride in her abilities, she causes a massive imbalance of the laws of nature by copying Din's triforce three times, making the only rule of nature destruction and passion. She wishes to the Triforce to be an unstoppable, godlike being able to shift reality to her will. She was able to easily trounce Ganon, obliterating him (possibly preventing his resurrection, ever again) and becomes the new dark lord. Link bursts in, but to Zelda's sadness he does not recognize her other than a being of pure evil. Zelda, in one last effort to do good in the world traps link in relative safety instead of outright killing him. She creates a clone of herself, one that is not corrupted, and sends her into the world, hoping that in time the good Zelda can correct the mistakes of the unforeseen collapse of evil Zelda's hubris. In the present, good Zelda can only observe the world she lived in become a broken fractured hellscape, as the Triforce is no longer balancing/protecting the world's balance. To this day, the original Zelda is filing paperwork, possibly unknowing of the fallout of her decisions.

I think you're right. If you go back to the first video in the series, the zoom out shot of the house shows the castle tower in the upper right corner. In the second video when Zelda is pushed by Ganon Zelda into Hyrule, you see it start shimmering, presumably shortly before everything gets corrupted and absorbed. The first video also seems to show a corruption of her duplication ability, as in this video items are shown to have restorative qualities while the first video shows that Zelda has no choice but to make more, inferior copies of herself to maintain the cycle of trying to save the world. That, or she's so lost on hope she doesn't want to continue on. Which would mean there's 3 Zelda's in the remains of Hyrule. I wonder if they could combine their powers to fix things Edit: Some additional, probably completely unimportant things I noticed. In this episode, Ganon is shown being defeated quite easily, but in the second episode, he dodged and parries, seemingly having learned from the first brawl with Zelda. The first episode is the only instance where Zelda is wearing a different outfit. The first episode is the only episode where the Tri Rod is given to another Zelda. This either means the rod is duplicated with each Zelda, or it's found individually. If it's the former, then that might go to explain the decline in duplication potency. If Tri is duplicated in each wand, then that might explain their completely broken nature in the first episode. Either way that means there are currently 3 varying Tri Rods, owned by each respective Zelda.

I think my favorite moment is probably around a minute in, when Zelda puts on a brave face when Link enters the room, completely hiding her emotions from him, only to get immediately overwhelmed and have the façade fall away.
