I think President Zelensky's legacy speaks for itself. Here is a humble and kind man taking on a tough job and even more-so during this war. Whereas Saddam was also a brutal dictator, who attacked other countries and used chemical weapons on his own citizens. So not really comparable to Ukraine. Even if Ukraine is far from a perfect country. But even then, plenty of people opposed both wars. I certainly opposed the second Iraqi war.

In Middle East countries yes they have dictators same they have Princes etc. It is not was not and will not be a democratic region the way we see it. Political system has nothing to do with it. The example is Afghanistan, American gave power to Talibans then accused them for terrorism, attacked them and after billions and 20 years they replaced Taliban with Taliban. Their biggest achievement was they taught Taliban perfect English. Gadaffi kept future ISIS members under his belt, was cruel towards them , yes. The country had no civil war, has not been attacked, had Universal basic income, women formed almost half of high positions, and basically most social benefits you can imagine. You wanted not to work, you could, you just could not be drug addict, alcoholic, rapist, killer, thief. You want to waste your life not being useful, ok , you still will have roof over your head and food , less if you were married, but you won’t be in the street. Only lack of freedom was you could not engage in activities that are of harm to others and you. Yes it is such a terror. Whereas in US I meet veterans who served their country and sleep in a tent under the bridge in SF or mentally ill screaming in horror. US wanted Libya to be their democratcy and now the country is a ruin, rape , murder, no perspective.
