My problem is how we continue to say absolutely “NO” to certain weapons only to give Ukraine the said weapons a few months later! I’m this re-guard we only cost more lives and drag out the suffering. I think most of those Russians who moved to Crimea would leave again if they could see Ukraine were about to take it back. Probably some of the pro-Russians as well. Crimea needs to be taken like Kherson. Isolate and starve them out, mainly for starving them for fuel and ammunition. How strange that all the responsibilities for defending the West and Europe fall on Ukraine, yet so for none of the benefits would seem to be on offer. The EU should admit Ukraine in 2-3 years. Just do it. Most importantly, we should skip "security guarantees" and bring them into NATO. They are 10x more valuable than almost every army in Europe.

Is there not an article to be presented analyzing the UK and US 'donations' of munitions and weapons? There is some indignation that so much money is being given to Ukraine. However, much of the spending is in the home country in manufacturing and ,I've heard on some podcasts, msny of the munitions were due to be destroyed due to expiration dates and many of the weapons were already mothballed. Add to that the battlefield testing that Ukraine is carrying out and there is a completely different calculus of the costs of help to Ukraine emerges?

Russian factories are working 3 shifts in real time to produce more ammunition. For the last year they've used all of their old stock artillery that they'd have to get rid of anyway, many reports claim that they even fired modified old shells which they used as decoy, basically forcing UA to guess if it's the real one or not, a very bad gamble if they launch 1 real and 10 decoys which worth is of weight metal, yet UA has to respond with real expensive missiles to take it down. Ukraine is the one running out of shells badly and U.S. generals admit that they can't supply them so fast, it would take a year or more. I think it's Ukraine who's going to take that ceasefire time to reinforce their positions and don't forget they're still waiting for U.S. tanks that are nowhere near and aircrafts that are not yet approved to them.

Russia did plan for a major Winter Offensive. It formed 3 waves to deploy depending on how things went. I believe the Russians had about 325,000 troops in Ukraine on 01/01/2023. They added about 75,000 in Commands from Kherson Oblast East to Luhansk. The Russians kept about 150,000 along the border and up to Starobelsk. The are additional 75,000 troops in bases in Belarus and Belograd. The Russian Military tested using troops as an asset in their Winter Offensive. The test failed in several places although some Operations continue. This probably means Russia has changed its Objectives from Offensive Operations to Defensive Operations. I would assume Russia is trying to create defensive weapons rather than offensive weapons. Ukraine is NOT going to liberate Crimea prior to defeating all the Russian troops in the Donbas. The Ukrainian Donbas Campaign of Luhansk Offensive and Donetsk Offensive with a supporting Offensive for flank security to Mariupol or Berdiansk will come 1ST. The Kherson Oblast East Offensive will be a follow on action to start a Ukrainian siege of Crimea. It will take special amphibious vehicles to achieve this Objective. While that equipment is being deployed and practiced on, the Ukrainian Luhansk Offensive North will secure the rest of the Ukrainian territory. Keep in mind, Crimean water and power all come from Kherson Oblast East. When this area is liberated, things will get tough in Crimea. Also, as soon as either Mariupol or Berdiansk is liberated, the Kerch Bridge will be within HIMARS and M777 smart munition range. Therefore, supplies coming to Crimea will be limited to ferries vulnerable to sea drones. The Russian may leave Crimea voluntarily as part of a peace deal. The Russians may get Crimea to be demilitarized for 15 years.

umm hasn´t russia been running out of everything needed in war, even oil for last year??? yet it´s still not happened,..
@sH-ed5yf
@sH-ed5yf Жыл бұрын
Kind of. They didnt technicly ran out of oil. But their logistics sucked. So the army was out of fuel. And also kind yes. There missle stockpiles are exhausted. That is why they only launch waves every few weeks. Thst is the time they need to produce new ones. And it is remakleble that shelling with artillery reduced by around 75%. What is the reason for that? Out of shells. Maybe not. But either the logisticsor the cannons make trouble

I listen to this podcast almost daily. Today I stopped listening to your March 17 episode when your guest, Stuart Stevens, started on his spiel about Trump (I am not a Trump supporter). Stuart Stevens is with the Lincoln Project, an American grift organization. Having him as a guest brings down the podcast.

Stop talking about Crimea as something that can be settled at the end. It won't be. If Russia wins Crimea won't even be discussed. If Ukraine wins, Crimea will be liberated before Donbas. If putin comes out of this with anything more than he went in with, then we'll have to do this all over again.

Great episode again as usually guys, thanks. I especially enjoyed the latter portion with Andrew the IT specialist. This put a big smile on my face. This war altho so disheartening, has pulled out the strengths of these formidable people in so many ways. Not only holding great morale among them in this horrendous war but to be so resilient in the face of evil. To better prepare themselves for the future despite what may lay ahead. I sensed Andrews little giggles throughout his comments because he knows they are sticking it to the Ruzzians. It may have been partial nerves but excitement too, to show the world they can deal with any set backs, they will persevere! They have grown as a country seemingly over night and are better off for that. Am very proud of them! Slava Ukraini! 🗺❤🇺🇦 Edit: Also want to mention, the idea of that separate website where Ruzzians and Belaruzzians can see the horrors of their war instead of anything that can help them, is genius!
