Zelos listened and seeks to address some common critiques with the original Mako GMT. Let's take a quick look to see what's new.

I did not receive compensation for filming this review. Zelos provided the watch and I do not have to return it. The statements contained within are only my opinion.

Innovation and constant improvement - I respect the moves Zelos makes a lot. I might get one, one day, but I'm happy to just sit on the fence and keep watching them improve.

I always appreciate the reviews. IMHO I think you and other reviewers are splitting hairs when mentioning you did not get compensation. Receiving a watch is a form of compensation. If you were to buy it you would have spent the money and if you sell it you make that money. Okay, cash may not have changed hands, but still, this is a form of compensation. It's not just your channel that notes this about compensation. I think your reviews are always honest and fair, but wording the statement about "compensation" could be more accurate for all channels making similar statements when something is gifted for services rendered.

I appreciate what you're saying and always do my best to accurately describe circumstances (regardless of what they are). Taken in isolation, I get how the no compensation reference could be misleading but I think it's important to have the full context. "I did not receive compensation for filming this review. Zelos provided the watch and I do not have to return it. The statements contained within are only my opinion." To me, there is a difference between direct, monetary compensation (which I have explicitly refused on every occasion it was offered from various brands) and not having to return the subject of a review. Either way though, I don't want ambiguity of circumstances so I add the second sentence. Cheers

It's always exciting when a new Zelos collection comes out and they did some nice upgrades with this one. I already own a non-GMT titanium Mako, so I will pass this time.

Agreed, always great seeing new designs and evolving past designs. The Mako Ti is a fantastic GADA option and the weight reduction is noticeable. Cheers

Good to see they've reduced the thickness. 1st gen was overly thick for the compact lug to lug. More importantly is the addition of minute markers on the chapter ring. Can actually accurately set the time now!

The willingness of Elshan to listen to feedback is one of my favorite things about the brand. He always seems to listen and try to evolve, without losing his vision. Cheers

I like the reduced thickness, although my original Mako GMT doesn’t really bother me. Same with the male end links. All my GMTs from other brands (Glycine, Orient Star & Timex) have minutes and 24 hour markings on the chapter rings, as does the Zelos Blacktip GMT. My Zelos Spearfish GMT has only the minutes, like this new Mako GMT. On a GMT, I actually prefer having only the 24 markings vs only the minute markings. I have no problem interpreting the minute hand’s position, based on the second hand’s position, on my Mako GMT. I do need to set the time at x2.5 or x7.5 minutes past the hour to get the minute hand perfectly aligned.

I don't disagree with your thoughts and still love my original Malachite version. Despite not wearing thickly IMO, I too appreciate the thinner profile of the new one. I'm largely indifferent on the minute markers. I like the ease of precision legibility with them, but also feel like the 24 hour of the original is more fitting to a GMT. Cheers

Great watch, makes me wonder why my new Zelos Blacktip Ti diver is only 200m. water resistant and this gmt-watch is 300m. water resistant? :)
@JonathanTReviews
@JonathanTReviews 3 ай бұрын
The Blacktip range (including the GMT) has always been 200m and Mako range at least 300m (earlier generations had more). It usually comes down to case construction differences. I believe the Blacktip mid-case is thinner, which probably impacts the rating. Cheers

This is not usually my type of watch, but on the face of it, it actually looks quite good. Then you move to the side and whatever gains have been made to thin it are lost on me, because it just looks far too chunky for my liking.

Understandable, the Mako has never presented the most thin profile view (and adding a fourth hand didn't help). The case itself is reasonably svelte for a diver, but the very high dome significantly increases the dimensions. Despite the specs and visual, it wears comfortably and I've never found the thickness to be noticeable on wrist (even with the original). Mileage will naturally vary though. Cheers

14.5mm isnt thin still..Dont know why most Zelos watches are on the thicker side,still wears better than the specs,but numbers are numbers🤔

I don't disagree, I wouldn't call that territory thin either. With much of the thickness coming from the very high crystal, and other case elements visually thinning it, it does wear much thinner though like you mentioned. I suspect part of the (12mm) case limitation is retaining the 300m water resistance.

There is no "true GMT", outside of digital pieces. Try and use that correctly in a time zone like Adelaide Australia that has a half-hour GMT offset. "True GMT" my a$$. Call it what it is - a "flyer GMT" aka "traveller GMT". Anyone who says "true GMT" is ignorant, or a Rolex fanboy (which also implies ignorant).
@JonathanTReviews

I believe the video describes it as many people referring to them as true/flyer/travel GMT to cover the bases. I'm sure there are plenty of people that use commonly referenced terms to convey the functional style, moreso than brand marketing/trade names. It often sticks beyond direct brand fans (look at oyster, glide lock, hesalite, etc.).

Well if you live in Adelaide your already use to crap not conforming to the weird time there. Any other GMT watch that isn't a digital wouldn't work there. So you can't really blast Zelos or Myota. Maybe that's a new business idea....Adelaide Watch Company.
