I absolutely love Zempire products. They are of the highest quality and I will never go back to an Oztrail or similar.

Great explainers as always, best resource on the internet for tent videos. While I get the need for ventilation, I definitely think they're missing a trick by not allowing you to close up the top vents on those nights when the wind is howling through, when you really don't need all that much ventilation due to the wind speed. I've been in a similar tent with vents like that at the top and we froze due to the inability to stop breezes going thru. Cheers ☘️

Thanks for your feedback! I'd say working in the industry, the amount of complaints or warranty claims you get on tents for 'leaking' when its actually condensation and its not set up with adequate ventilation, is insane. I can see why brands are not moving towards a fully mesh internal roof. Frankly speaking though, 'solid' inner tent material isn't really solid at all. Its often quite thin and open weave, and it certainly doesnt provide any insulative properties. As long as your sleep system is adequate for the temperatures, there shouldn't be a huge amount of difference ~ Lauren

@@SnowysOutdoors I completely understand the importance of ventilation for preventing condensation, and I see why brands are moving towards fully mesh inner roofs. It makes sense given the issues you mentioned with condensation-related complaints. In fact, I snared my Oztent RX5 from a former customer of Snowys who incorrectly cited 'leaking' - lucky me! I wonder if there might be a middle ground for those really windy, cold nights. While a fully open mesh roof is ideal for ventilation, it can make it challenging to retain warmth inside the tent when the wind is howling. The fabrics themselves don't offer much insulation, but the contained air does. I notice it as soon as I step into the back room of the RX5 on a windy night, even with both side windows cracked open a few inches. For tents like the Zempire, where the fly mainly covers the mesh roof because the walls are already waterproof, there might be an opportunity to offer a near-zero-breeze experience if you're willing to risk some condensation. Even with a good sleep system, strong breezes can make for a chilly night. To politely put it another way - the vents on this puppy seem way too big to offer any sort of warmth during a gale, because any warmed air from your body will be carried away. Zempire's designs and quality are top-notch, and the fabrics are lovely. However, balancing ventilation with warmth retention in extreme conditions was the main reason we chose the RX5 over these impressive air tents. I want to finish by saying again how much I appreciate yours and Ben's videos. They're always so well-presented and informative. Thanks again for your great content, I love watching the innovation in tent technology! ☘

Great video! Question - With the new Aerospeed lineup, does that mean the Pronto series will be discontinued? Thanks!

Hi Lauren and Ben, you're definitely the best reviewers. Thanks for that. I currently have a BlackWolf Turbo Lite 240, but considering downsizing because 1) I want something smaller and lighter, 2) I hate that I always need to set up the annex/front awning, so for 1 night or when it's windy, is annoying and 3) when packing down in a rainy day, it's annoying to open at home to let it dry. My concern: - It seems the Aerospeed doesn't block the light. How does it compare to the Blackwolf or the Coleman dark room? - Aerospeed 4 or Pronto 4? Thanks so much. keep up the legendary work you do

Pronto's are now discontinued, so the Aerospeed is the way forward. Not a massive fan of the blockout tents, you need to use a torch or lighting inside - even in the middle of the day. I'm a fan of the natural light when out camping, and only needing to rely on lighting when its dark. The Aerospeed has a dark inner, so it does a reasonable job, but you can always add the roof cover accessory to increase shade and improve temperature regulation. ~ Lauren

Only if they had made the fly sheet dark to block some of the light….. that would have made this tent a 10 out of 10. But the nearly transparent fly sheet is a deal breaker unfortunately 😢

Extra coatings on fabrics to make it dark can weaken the fabric on account of the process used, it also makes it bulkier as multiple layers need to be applied. Zempire's focus was on weight and packed size. I certainly wouldn't call it transparent though. ~ Ben

they should've added third bungee cord for the front awning, looks like a pain to roll up.....but besides that, it looks like decent tent.
