Keep in mind, the higher zen climbs, the less MMR he gains, like in a range from 1-6, and he loses from a range of 8-13 Around 1:3 ratio give or take. And if you are SSL, your difference to ZEN is the same as Diamond3. Now scale this with a diamond that gains 10-15mmr vs ZEN who gains 1-6mmr.

@@Official_Solok yes but it scales because of difference in skill, the game determines that the 2500-2600s he was vsing are only good enough to beat him say 1/4 games, the diamonds gaining/losing 9mmr are playing people equally as good at 2s i.e. it’s not a bigger skill gap because of the smaller mmr gains, the elo system already takes that into account

I don't like him as a player just because of the competitive part of the esport, but really I feel most of the dislike stems from the fact that people have puffed him up and way overrated this person from the moment he joined. Now obviously he's good, but people calling him the goat off rip was way too forced and the drastic fall off him and his team took the season after has only proven that he isn't just some instant win switch. I don't think he will ever be a unanimous "goat" I think he will probably be among the great legends along with squishy, Garrett, jstn, turbo, kaydop, kro, kuxir, and monkey moon. That being said he has to win more to get there in my book and perhaps he will, but the hype is the very reason people don't like him (no hate meant with that, I myself have similar reactions to the old NRG squad). And maybe his behavior, that IDK. Just let the dude become the player he is going to be don't throw all these labels on him when other than one split he really hasn't done a whole lot in this space yet. that split to me also has an asterisk just from the suddenness of his entry and the lack of preparation from teams around the world, the very next season, MENA, SAM, and NA top teams were already finding ways to compete and often beat the supposed "perfect" RL team. Now part of my dislike for him as a player is simply NA vs EU. I have no specific ill will toward him as a person other than I hope NA teams win when they play, but there is this mahomes-esque infatuation with the player, only difference is he has yet to actually prove himself, like actually prove himself. So we will see if now with a much better team on paper if it will turn around and his legacy can gain traction, though I for one am skeptical especially in the competitive league we find ourselves iin.

@@Sinnxnz I don't really think he can back it up sure there was the one split, but after that the team has looked very beatable and often was beaten. a top 4 finish at worlds did help prevent the team's season outlook as a whole, but Zen still has a lot to do to prove that the spring split/worlds run wasn't just a fluke from the shock of his entry into the space.

Look at the goal at 4:20 nobody else in the game is doing this, obviously any player can score this open net but zen is flip cancelling to change the angle of his car so that he can more efficiently power slide into a position that allows him to use his momentum to air roll into a power shot. It’s just disgusting what this guy does.

I don't know where you saw a flip cancel in there. He sideflips, starts a slight horizontal rotation (just before landing) that he maintains with a powerdrift on landing and then directional air roll jumps and flicks. The move is still really great, but no fcancel.

@@Krubus You're right, some people like Johnny call it an "In and out save". When this move became popular it was quickly coined the "Squishy Save" due to the obvious. But people like Johnny refuse to call it this because, rather than cementing specific players in the folklore, he prefers to name moves the boring way by using a name that describes the move. The same goes with the "Musty Flick" and "Zap Dash", and similarly "Psycho" and "Plan B", although these don't directly reference players but originated from Rocket League culture. I don't know about you but I prefer the more interesting names that preserve the culture. I liken it to the football/soccer move, the "Cruyff turn", popularised by Dutch player Yohan Cruyff. Same goes with skateboarding - the "McTwist" popularised by Mike McGill, and the "Half Cab" and "Full Cab" or "Cab" popularised by Steve Caballero. The list could go on. As much as I love Johnny I think his stance on this does a disservice to the Rocket League community and folklore associated with it. EDIT: Let me also give mention to the "Kux pinch", "JZR flick", "Breezi Flick" and, lest we forget, the "Doomsee Dish"
