Awesome!!! So many gems of wisdom, for the invisible BJJ. Great breakdown of fundamental principles for all. I can not believe I have not seen this before. I’m looking forward to applying on my next roll!! THANK YOU for sharing your talents and passion!!

😄😄 People sometimes point out that I shouldn't tale beginners to demonstrate. But I always feel if I can teach a beginner, everyone gets it 😊

Excellent again! Got a question. Why is it that spider walking with your fingers to open the elbow works better than pushing up?
@WimDeputterBJJ3 жыл бұрын
A push requires a big effort at once. It is all or nothing and tires you more out than needed. The spider walk is a slow progressive opening that allows you to use your arm as a wrench while your fingers and hand function as an anchor point that slowly crawls closer.

Awesome,I have your babybridge vid but as a smaller guy I'm struggling to understand how to use babybridge on top of side control to stop them rolling me over the top,I get it from mount but for whatever reason I can't get this concept to work from top side control?
@WimDeputterBJJ4 жыл бұрын
It is exactly the same thing. A babybridge can be seen as a one hip sprawl. A babybridge is just on bottom and a sprawl on top. The two cancel eachother out.
@jamesguy46884 жыл бұрын
@@WimDeputterBJJ so if opponent is babybridging away from me to roll me I would be countering his babybridge by looking over my right shoulder and he is looking over his left?
@WimDeputterBJJ4 жыл бұрын
@@jamesguy4688 To avoid getting swept over, you just have to sprawl and keep your weight backwards. If you want to counter his rotation, ideally you use the babybridge. But it depends on what you want. Some rotations of the opponent are favorable, so you can use both side babybridges, depending on what you want to happen. The best is to experiment with. Just ask your partner to babybridge and rotate and then test what happens depending on which side you choose.
