Honestly, I don’t know how influencers do it. I would imagine it has the possibility to destroy confidence and increase indecision. I hope it does not drive you too crazy. After working in a call center for four years I'm very much over trying to make everyone happy and caring about what people think of me. I used to be a massive people pleaser and I used to care SO MUCH what people thought. I am going to start a KZbin channel hopefully in the next couple months and I'm now confident I'll have the same attitude Alexandra has. I think most people learn to not care. For those who get hurt it's so upsetting. Like you, I hate that everyone feels they deserve input into everything. They don't. As for me I don't live that way. If I don't have something nice to say I don't say anything at all. It's a great way to live. It's a shame so many people don't do it. But as for you, Julia... We are all given the choice on what we focus on...if we believe we have no say and stay stuck in the blame-shame game then it's a fail before it even begins. It doesn't mean it's not difficult to learn and manage, it just means that fault has been dropped and responsibility has been picked up. Hope that makes some sense!!!!

Colors come and go in home design just like in fashion, but as my favorite Home Economics teacher used to say, “ Fashion is trendy, but style is timeless.” This room will never go out of style. Great neutral pallet and great use of texture and contrast. It is very relaxing and inviting and yes, Zen. Bedrooms are supposed to be a place to de stress, unwind, relax and sleep. A neutral pallet allows the eyes to rest. I’d say you hit it out of the park. Sister/ client is happy! That’s what counts in the end. Good job!

The intro 💀💀💀 This is such a great example of how textures can just really elevate a room. I really love that Alexandra brought in those side tables too and the little hints of earthy colours really anchored the room so it didn't feel sterile. Glad her sister loved it so much. 🤍

I remember this one. It wasn’t my favorite, but I appreciated the simplicity of what you did and thought that if she liked it then that’s all that mattered. Why someone would comment such judgmental things is beyond me.

People were right, though. The last makeover upgraded the room in terms of aesthetic (although that wasn't my favorite), but downgraded the room in terms of functionality. Her sister didn't keep the ladder, clothes rod or turned over basket. She instead got another dresser, a bedside table, a vanity and brought her bookshelf back in.

Honestly, I'm more into her sister's color scheme myself, but as I'm growing older, I have learned to appreciate some 'zing' of accent color here and there, albeit minimally. I think Alexandra did really good for being minimal with the color for this room. Great job.

I love color too but can appreciate that not everyone does. This makeover looks fantastic!! The textures and subtle neutrals and fun accessories such as the lamps make this space super welcoming. Like a great bed and breakfast but the art feels more personal than that.

I do love textures and tones and natural materials over color. I do however prefer warmth over stark white. I think you did an amazing job by creating warmth but staying true to what your sister wanted.

Love your work Alexandra. My niece and I just did the nursery for her first baby. 💕💖 We used cream and the palest of blush and as I have learned from you, lots of texture.
