WE, my sons and I thought we could build AK's so we bought kits, and tools to build and went to build party. Building AK's is fun but not always easy and no where near like assembling other firearms. The least of which back then was heat treating. (See swordmakers) Now look where we are watching Rob and Ula make mods. Thank Y'all

"My First AK Rail" ~ be Rob Ski, I'll admit it. 3-years ago, I was afraid to start filing on an expensive rail, just to make it fit my AK pattern rifle. But, like most things, you just gota' dive in head first. There are 3 things that made the job easier and a perfect fit. No... it's not glass, ice, vodka. Quality Vixen file (no taper to width or thickness). Quality Half-round file. Sharpie (to mark high-spots).

I just finished a wasr10 to Tac-K assembly and getting a gap to disappear between the archangel stock and receiver took 2 hours (with the tools I had). I had to Michaelangelo the stock to fit. Got a master mount from your website, a recoil buffer, and a Sheppard's plate to replace the paperclip. It's from 1964 and is now modern-compatible.

I put the Barwarus B-30/B31 clone handguards + B33 railed dust cover on my PSA ak-104 and they're a knockout. Light filing required to fit lower handguard into receiver. Aside from that, all is GTG and locks up secure enough to calm my nerves. Solid products.

I installed a Barwarus on my kp 104 and I got lucky and didn't have to file anything however I did use a piece of wood and a hammer to tap the front rail to fit the front hand guard. You're correct though with what you said about the dust cover. I found that on the left side of the gun or scope rail side I have a little gap which didn't bother me until zeroing optics. However I still think this package is great for heat mitigation and ir lazers.

You will have to file all of it. I filed some of it and then tried to tap the last bit into the receiver with an autozone rubber mallet and the handguard folded like an accordion. I wasn't aggressive either. I followed the install of the Zenitco videos and KUSA video. Their customer service wasn't interested in helping me. Dust cover bracket needed filing as well. I doubt they will do anything with your feedback. I wish I would have bought the Midwest stuff. All I wanted was an accurate spetsnaz clone. What a fiasco.

Watch how I'm hammering this types of rails without damaging them. Because even ZenitCo rail will deform if you tapping them from the front.

The problem with teh MI stuff is that you can't retain the cleaning rod. At least that's my biggest issue.

@@AkOperatorsUnion my next go around im going to file like 95% of it and then I will proceed to tap with a thinner punch exactly like you did in this video. I just wanted people to know. Fit and finish on this product is not something to be rushed. I just think it's misleading they show it being ran over by a car on the website. I tried tapping the rail straight and the sides folded like bread. No way it survived being ran over while not being fixed to the rifle. There are write ups online of people having the same issues I did.

@@Leo_Sneedinsky you're right but in the Zenitco install videos they are using a steel hammer and wedge and advise against filing at all. Barwarus claims there's better than the original on their website. I didn't think tapping with a rubber alternative would ruin the rail so fast. But my mistake can help others to be more careful.

My kr 103 rear slot space for the dust cover was to small... and the recoil spring button was very very tight. I had to hammer it in and out and file it down some

Im interested to see if it will hold zero with the lpvo. People say that the tws dog leg wont hold zero with heavy optics. It seems like side rails like rs regulate will but im not sure. The sureshot chassis system doesnt allow room for an lpvo. So there arent many good options for lpvos on aks so hopefully the barwarus rail set will work well.

I have a zenitco sport 1 hand guard and Barwarus dust cover and when putting it on my kp104 the dust cover arms were so tight against the sides of the front trunion it scraped the finish pushing them down. I don’t think this would cause problems in the future but idk for sure.

If anyone is wanting to know if these will work on Bulgarian slr 106. Dust cover will not fit over the rear sight block without filling. It is doable but a lot of filling and maybe some beating with a mallet is required.

Hey Rob im looking for a 556 ak i originally wanted a zastava m90 but a dont want to deal with all the yugo furniture hunt, ive been considering the wbp 556 jack, beryl , and i was impressed byvyour ak102 videos. Do you have any recommendations for me on these rifles ? Anything that makes any of them better than another? I own a kr103 and its swt up with a kypk handguard which is part of why i dont wabt a zastava its my understanding the kypk stuff doesn't fit it.

This is just stupid. We beat this to death 9 years ago, when that video was originally made. Now she jumps on the “bus”?
