I always thought that aten was some sort of ancient deity it is cool to know it only appeared at time of thutmose the third

It was certainly ancient in that it was always a thing, but it was Thutmose IV who recognised it as a separate god, for sure. Old and new!

He wasn't an usurper ,He simply was Next in line to the throne, After his older brother,) Ahmenhotep2 firstborn son (webbensennu) Died in the 10th plauge on Egypt in the spring of 1443BC
