I like your eye for detail, it’s the little things that other builders won’t even think about. Also, the ELT signal unit you say to tie to some cables… I would tie it to a piece of metal instead to prevent the tie cutting the insulation of the cables over time. Just food for thought. Nice airplane though, keep on the good work.

Hello Mark from Sydney Australia. The 3D printing process is a perfect solution for engineering maintenance. There are expensive accessories "completely" replaced because of a small $3.00 component that could be printed. The cost is setting up the first copy: 'that hurts the back pocket'. 🌏🇭🇲

Your plane is made of Metal. But I’m pretty sure, when you receive an award for an exceptional accomplishment, it’s a Medal 🤪 Luvya Mark 😎🎩♠️💙

Thank you but any judge who would look at my paint job would walk away laughing! LOL

Looking great Mark. Do you know what kind of filament that brake line bracket is printed from? It sure looks good.

Fantastic! Sweating the paint job seems contrary to the mission for this plane. She isn't a hangar queen, right? She is built to get you there with your gear and bring you back.

Love the 3D printed brake line holder! We may have the same type of ELT? Kind of funny, I went to install the D batteries in the main unit, just to realize it already has a Lithium battery in it! Now I am thinking… how much will this cost to replace😅?

Where the rear control surface stop hits the rudder could you use a couple inches of trimlock as an edge protector?

It's getting close! Is it too early to start talking about the next build? 😉

Curious what plastic is being used for 3D printed part. Some plastics will not be suitable for this application.

How does the anti-walk on the steering rod nuts work? I see little slots, but those don't seem wide enough for any sort of safety wire.
@KitplaneEnthusiast Жыл бұрын
No safety wire is used with these nuts. The top of the nut is sort of squashed a little bit making it a locking nut. These type of nuts are used instead of locking nuts with nylon.
