Yeah, both of these songs are boss music, with Long Live The King having a bigger impact on me (for in-game reasons [if you know, you know]). You can find out who they are by going to the ZZZ Official channel and look up "Hyper Commission Behind the Scenes". It's a group of 4 artists that make up San-Z (i.e three-Z aka ZZZ). They go in-depth on how each of them make their own music for the game and their own preferred genres.

@@CatharsisYT Yeah the big thing with ZZZ is they brought in all new blood for every aspect of the games development. Not a single person working on ZZZ worked previously at Hoyoverse, and that obviously included the sound team. For trailers HoyoMix will help them with production, but the actual compositions are done by San-Z alone.

It's a complete departure from their other games in terms of going hard on urban themes and Y2K vibes instead of fantasy/sci-fi which I already get plenty of in my other games

If you love “Long Live The King”, I would recommend you another ZZZ boss fight theme “Sacrifice Bringer boss theme Phase 2”. They went full prog metal there.

You should definitely do Derailed Order - Day and Derailed Order - Night next They are a bit long being basically 3 songs (sections) into one, 1 exploration and 2 combat BUT they are a great listen with a lot of variety

the confusion mostly stems from listening to tracks in isolation I think. Each of the "styles" corresponds roughly to a chapter + faction in game. The metal is for the Outer Ring, there's jazz for Pubsec there's a sort of traditional/EDM mix for Section 6 there's various EDM for the city folk. Also, both of these are boss tracks but for two different areas with very different contexts, hence very different tones.

There's also Victoria Housekeeping with classical music I would call the Cunning Hares Hip-hop or trap but I don't really have any experience in that genre type (maybe it's just dubstep or mumbattan like Catharsis said) There's also Obol Squad but there's only one member and it hasn't been a prominent faction in the story yet so I can't really say what its genre style is

You should listen to other boss themes. Specifically 'Bloom of Doom' and 'Warrior Friday'. They're masterpieces. EDIT: There are official releases but the titles are in Mandarin. Respectively they're 'Doom Bloom' and '勇者星期五' from San-Z Also for context Warrior Friday is from a series of bosses.

One of the things I love in this game: They can put any music genre and it will fit, exactly because a lot of the game is based on music, and it can perfectly balance the "Zen" from the "Less".

So, the in-game mixes of the tracks tend to sound less dynamic than the eventual album mixes, I suspect to avoid crowding the soundscape so that dialogue and SFX can also fit in comfortably. Despite these being high quality rips, they're not quite as high quality as the album versions. These tracks are #74 and #82 respectively from the recently released album, "极限委托"; I use numbers because they didn't localize the track titles.

Yeah, the album mix sounds significantly more dynamic to me. They didn't cut the low and low-mid frequencies there and the instruments are much more spread out in the soundstage.

Chaos series is my favorite set of bgms in ZZZ, there's a lot of Chaos soundtracks so I recommend listening to Alpha Beta and Gamma first because they were the first 3 that came out when the game released

Bringer's Boss theme, "献给始主的牲" (roughly "Sacrifice to the Lord") is the last member of the Weekly Boss Quintet. San-Z's release has both phases in one video. Going to also echo the other comments as Sword of Corruption and Bloom Doom are other good picks. Sword of Corruption, especially. It's "San-Z, this is the tutorial Boss. You don't have to go this hard."

huh...i thought you had already reacted to both of these songs. my brain must be going smoother. these songs are for the first and fourth weekly bosses. neither are really my kind of music unfortunately but they work quite well now i'm suggesting "献给始主的牲" which is for the fifth and newest weekly boss. i don't think it's in the in-game music player yet so there isn't an official english title. hard for me to say if the regions have a different inspiration and style (especially since it's still relatively new so there aren't actually a lot of regions) but this theme has a completely different tone than the two in this video

Long Live the King is in a bit of a difficult place thematically as due to narrative circumstances, it has to pull double duty being both hype and somber at the same time. Like it has to amp you up to fight the boss, but it also can't be _too_ hype because the boss in question is a tragic figure whom you, the player, really don't want to be fighting and in a just world _wouldn't_ be fighting. One of those 'the boss is just as much a victim as you are' scenarios, and I think they nailed it musically. My favourite song in the game bar none. Dance of Death is a close second, though.

I would recommend you Yanagi's Battle Music but the actual album's title is in chinese and the one uploaded usually are from in-game so it doesnt sound as good. The in-game's music player title is Flowing Moonshade and Desperation and Despair respectively

Long Live The King sounds so weird to me, I don't believe there's any real instrument and the vocals are pretty unintellegible. In chapter 1.4 they added a new instrumental song that you can find on YT with the title "Sacrifice Bringer - Phase 2" which I personally find a step forward in terms of sound quality and it's also a very cool prog-metal track.
