Okay I’m kinda normally a lurker and don’t catch every stream but like wtf? When someone expresses feeling negative in any way it’s absolutely not an appropriate response to relate that to “having your period” or make comments like “do xyz and u will be fine” The complete dismissal of someone’s emotions like that is not only rude but also most of the comments I saw were completely routed in misogyny. Streamers are human obviously but ontop of that they have no obligation to open up to watchers about anything. Vanta making a comment about how he feels and then being met with ridicule, misogynistic jokes and the blatant brushing it off is setting an awful standard for the community and viewers as a whole. Like I just heard what happened and had to say that coz i can only imagine that seeing a community you feel kinship too react in that way was incredibly disappointing as both a viewer and a streamer. Also im not saying this because i dont think Vanta can handle it himself or for any reason of trying to fight anyone’s battles. I just was kinda in disbelief at the casual misogyny people thought was okay?? And had to say something at least for my own sake.

Vanta is one of the hardest working members. Streaming basically daily, while also coming up with lots of creative streams that chat gets to participate in (like the dating advice one). And to see chat decide “our job is to make him feel like shit 😊” is heart breaking. Like fr some of you have to grow up a little and learn how tf to interact with people nicely. Teasing the streamer constantly gets old fast and isn’t as cute as you think it is.

It’s incredibly harrowing to witness a community that’s so collectively supportive be so despairingly dismissive of how he feels. Behind that avatar he’s as human as the rest of us, and you’d never respond to a person this way face to face. Seeing someone-anyone-start becoming agitated by your words is your cue to stop. We should know this. Joking is only amusing if it actually amuses and doesn’t make them blatantly uncomfortable. I know that in this moment a lot of the Vantacrew is disappointed with this behavior and our remarks can come off as antagonizing, but I say with confidence that we do NOT mean to entirely alienate those who took it too far here. If you are willing to take accountability and our words to heart, improving our behavior in the future would facilitate the supportive environment that we all want, and the crew would love to see nothing more. It’s only to those that refuse to acknowledge this behavior and their mistakes that we do not want here. If you simply lack the empathy to be mindful of what you say, work on yourself or get out. Most importantly to Crowshi: I’m sincerely sorry that this went so poorly. You’re what unites the crew to begin with and your boundaries are absolutely paramount. Please don’t force yourself to stream excessively if you’re still wary about chat and please put your foot down if you feel it necessary to do so. No matter what course of action you take, we’ll understand and be happily waiting for the next stream. Rest up, you’re really cool. 💜💜

It was difficult to tell in the heat of the moment (as it was live), but Vanta did throw out many signs looking back on it now. It's not cringe to be respectful & have fun without bringing someone down.
