my brother you must understand, some 'masterpieces' are never quite finished. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of those masterpieces. Day 1 base game? Not perfect. but year 4 day 37, post updates, modded how you personally like? Oh yeah, that's the perfect game. It's like Skyrim, it was fairly mid when it launched. It got shit on constantly back in the day but now its the '"golden" elder scrolls/rpg. Masterpieces take time :D

I love your video, one critique I have on you talking about the murderer mission? The game rewards roleplay, you're a merc hired to kill a guy, yes, but then the guy that hired you tells you "No, I want to kill him myself", affords the player the opportunity to cross their arms, smirk and watch what happens. I never open fire on anyone in 2077 until they open fire on me, so this mission was a great subversion of expectations. Also, the ending to that quest is entirely dependent on your choices as a player, in my game the braindance was a huge hit and I got a bonus because I encouraged him to keep faith and go through with it. Also, with Kerry's mission, you can actually persuade him to embrace the baby death metal band and do a collab with them, it's actually kinda endearing

* corrections * 1. In the sinnerman quest you can actually have the brain dance be a success if you say particular things to him. I completed the quest twice with different dialogue and did not see any change so instantly assumed there was no way the brain dance can succeed. Thank you for pointing this out. I made sure my V was a cynical nihilist who internally toyed with the man’s desire to believe that he could be forgiven and fed him all of the positive notes necessary to have him go through with it and the lady called me happy to deposit dem’ sweet sweet Eddies into my account. Also, I find it super interesting that you decided to start shooting at the police once they had already killed the man who contracted you, because I put my gun away right away and was like “well, there goes my payday and any desire to want to continue this escapade” until the guys came out the backside of the car lol. My biggest gripe about this mission is that there’s no way to be able to try to negotiate getting a percentage for the success of the braindance. I mean, I nail a guy to a cross and don’t get points on the package? Cmoooon!

In the ttrpg it is subjective for the players/audience playing. In cyberpunk 2077 the game his back story is subject for JOHNNY. leaving the player with nothing to interpret. The game flat out tells you that things did not go down that way. In the ttrpg you can interpret the information you are given. In the game the tells you not to interpret it because it's all bullshit

Half of Cyberpunk felt super well polished, little things like being able to call characters and the sense of style and atmosphere, the other half felt like it needed more time, the AI, the bugs, the lack of things to see and do in the gorgeous world. I went in with little expectations for like ~$15 and was blown away with it, and all those little details and stories felt well made and written and yet equally it just left me wondering what could've been if it wasn't rushed to release. In its current state it's both one of the best experiences I've had in a game and one of the most disappointing, and on the ending I know some people hated it, but it absolutely fits the themes of the genre.

45:00 this is just an underlying problem with ALL AAA games nowadays, they all feel like they have to be movies, like as if the cool story has to be the thing that brings people in and engages them throughout, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.. video games, unlike movies, do not need a story to give people a reason to buy them and play them, they could’ve easily removed the main story all together and just had the player living in night city being whatever they wanna be, u can keep the side missions and gigs n all that stuff to give players a reason to explore the city and hear all its stories, but the over arching main story is not a necessity, in fact it actually ends up hamstringing the games potential, as long as u give people fun gameplay and an engaging progression system, ur game will be successful, the over arching linear main stories that these AAA games insist on having are actually totally unnecessary… I do really like the main story in this game but it is not the thing that keeps me coming back to play, I keep Coming back cuz I enjoy the gameplay and progression and variations in builds and approaches to combat, and the side stories u can immerse urself in night city with.. the main stories r just unnecessary and AAA developers just refuse to drop their fetish with being cinematic movies

9:14 The Tyger Claws are Arasaka supported muscle? I dont think so. ITs malestrom IMHO that is the gang Arasaka uses. Of course Arasaka hired the Valentinos to make a raid on Arasaka (Bus stop mission). But lets look at the Paralezes being mind controlled (Johnny states that Mikoshi for the last 50 years is the only place on earth where mind control studies are being done and Arasaka is the one doing them. So when you play I fought the law Paralezes mission and follow the van who shows up to protect the van and the guards? Malestrom. Even more damning is when Takemura kills Dex he calls "Arasaka sama" and states he has Suburos killer (V) and will be there in an hour, on the way to see Yourinobu (unless you believe he was talking to Honoco which is very doubtful) calls a hit squad, who shows up to kill V and Takemura ...you got it Malestrom so...Yourinobu called Malestrom to get rid of the only witness to his patricide and the only investigator (Takemura) who knows anything about it. And when Garry the prophet talks about the global elite having a meeting a black SUV meets with who? Malestrom. I am sure all the corporations use all the gangs at one point or another but it seems to me that Malestrom gets the nod where it counts. Just my $.02

Knowing that, Takemura just wants to find V's body, that's why he went to Dex.

When it feels like so many other people are taking crazy pills you gaslight yourself into wondering if it is in fact you that's been downing the little psycho berries. Then you see someone else say the things you've been saying. Moral of the story, I am also very rationally urked by the fact that someone invented the word "sixthsthsthsthsss". No but seriously, if you had said that Jackie should have survived the prologue and been more involved in the story until the end, giving the player/V more to react to and build upon while allowing Jackie to do some of the heavy lifting instead of V constantly doing stupid sharz or Johnny being an unlikable fugg... One thing I'll never understand is why CDPR completely lost their sense of integrity and farted the game out before it was properly finished. They delayed Witcher 3 when they knew it wasn't ready, so why was this any different? Was it simply greed or did someone spike the office water cooler with Stupidity serum? They are a self-publishing studio! They had all the time in the world! The mere fact that there’s so much already there, so much that gave it the potential to be an utterly wonderful game, it’s thrown away. This game’s kinda tragic, huh? I think you missed where you can actually impact the storyline in quite a few places. If you want Sinnerman's to end differently, you gotta help with the crucifixion. If you stand with him at the end, he doesn't lose faith. Cyberpunk's choices are all in the small things and the interpersonal connections, and on that way it is very true to the setting. You can help the individuals you can touch, be a friend to those who you know personally, and take the victories in the small pleasures and joys around you. You can't beat Night City becauae the house always wins.

Wow. I never really knew much about Cyberpunk until now. Powerful stuff. I think the main thing I'll take from this is Cyberpunk is a game constantly dangles milk chocolate in front of your face but when you bite into it you realize it was actually dark chocolate. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it sure wasn't what you were expecting and Cyberpunk assured you it was milk chocolate. The aftertaste doesn't lie, though. Honestly, I never played this game because all the robotic prosthetics got under my skin. Like a gross body-horror game. Maybe that's just me.

@Altmer3533 жыл бұрын
imho Keeves role was awesome, dont blame him. Story is fucking great. mb they couldve hire cheaper actor , not a movie star. But at this point i cant imagine Johny being played by someone else. Thing is, someone clearly bitten off more than dev team could chew. Fucking cinematic story experience from first person view took probably a lot of fucking time, 100% tell they redone alot of scenes. Probably did a lot of 3rd person cutscenes before figuring out that that they shouldn't done it. add to that first person shooter mechanics, which they never done before and their engine was made for third person melee rpgs. I figured that game gonna be ridden with bugs the moment they delayed it second time. Another problem is management, dev team became big really quick. Manage so many people is pain in the ass. Im not even gonna talk about some incompetent higher ups... Personaly i got what i wanted from this game. Average gameplay with fucking awesome storytelling and world. kinda even prefer cp77 over witcher 3.

I'd love to hear what you think after all this time!

Sadly with the production costs of my videos now I don't think I'll have time for it, but I do have phantom liberty on my too play list! I've only heard good things

That's not being nitpicky, that's being true. Your analysis on how the meaning of the sidequests gets flushed down the toilet most of the time is one of the best I've seen so far. I played the first two hours on a standard ps4. I didn't have any game-breaking bugs (yeah, no kidding), and well, the graphics were pretty subpar but ok... the problem was that I BOUGHT the game to roleplay a character. It takes just 20 minutes (I did corporate, F4 to me) to understand that the game doesn't really give a fuck about meaning. I don't care about ray tracing, I don't care about the biggest city in game, I don't care about endless NPCs, I don't care about those goddamn menus and endless skill tress. I just wanted to play a character and have choices and that these choices would have consequences.

I think proper development of cyberpunk started in 2015

You got to the crux of the matter; All life path choices are an illusion and I feel the ending is much the same way. There is really no good ending but one is okay, which means it will probably be cannon. My review is post patch 1.22 on Ser X. I've played around 100 hours and just got level 33 w str cred of 50. Pros: Voice Acting/Storyline Endless side quests Guns/crafting system is cool. You can get 7/8 good vehicles so buying any. Some cool cyberware, I got gorilla arms and double jump. $65k total. Cons: STILL a ton of minor glitches Side missions are repetitive Endings suck Gfx are merely okay for Ser X Jackie, best char, dies under 2 hours in. Choices are usually illusory NO ENERGY WEAPONS Can't mod cars or buy property... All in all, not a triple A game. Feels like an overly ambitious AA studio. Not worth even $50 new, MAYBE $40 on the hope it will continue to improve and that we get a DLC w Pan ending as canon/can continue playing after ending.

witcher 3 still by most beloved game, will probably stay so for another 10 years considering the past few years and its releases. Some gems for sure, but still nothing compares.
